Dear everyone,
We are Scarlet Stories, a progressive rock/metal band from Tilburg (NL) and hereby we would like to ask you for help in realizing our first full-length album!
We wish to record our new songs in the best way possible, reflecting the energy, dynamics and storytelling we show you on stage! Therefore we have joined forces with musician and producer Joost van den Broek (Ayreon, Navarone, VUUR, Marcela Bovio, MaYan) to record our music at Sandlane Recording Facilities (NL).
This collaboration will make it possible to tell you our stories exactly the way we envision them and help us get to the next level as a band! We have already written all the material for the album and hope to record this in the studio in the beginning of 2019!
About Scarlet Stories
Scarlet Stories creates a unique type of dark progressive music with an eclectic range of musical influences. We create & sculpt stories through music. Stories about mankind’s darkest emotions & acts, suffering, beauty and murder; written to make you think about the world we live in and delivered with an impressive and dramatic live performance
You may know us from support shows for bands like Antimatter, Stream of Passion, Danny Cavanagh (Anathema) or perhaps you are more familiar with the projects our vocalist Lisette van den Berg participated on such as Ayreon, Ruud Jolie's For All We Know and Rock Opera videogame Karmaflow? Either way, you have found your way to our campaign and it would be great to have you on board for our next adventure!
To record an entire album we need at least €15,000,- to cover recording expenses (including recordings of all instruments and vocals, mixing and mastering the album) and expenses for artwork and pressing of the album.

To thank you we offer great perks for you to collect! Besides, your name will be mentioned on the new Scarlet Stories album and our website, you will receive signed copies of all items, you can vote for your favorite song to be re-recorded from EP 'Resurrection' and get access to the album songs early at the pre-release of the album (est. March 2019)! All perks include shipping costs within NL (no track & trace).
Single 'Vingt mille lieues sous les mers'
To give you an impression of what's in store, we have already recorded the first song of the album 'Vingt mille lieues sous les mers' (inspired by the famous sci-fi story of Jules Verne) at the amazing Sandlane studio. The song is 11.22 minutes (!!) long and describes the character of Captain Nemo and his inner battles.
Artist Jelle Steenhuisen (Karmaflow, ODDfigures' Babu) has created the incredible artwork for the single (see above). We will release a special limited physical edition of the single for this crowdfunding campaign!
We fully-funded the recording, mixing, mastering, press and music video of the song ourselves with money we saved up from gigs, merch, your contributions to our music, and of course from our regular day-jobs. However, to record an entire full-length album we are in need of your help to collect money to make this happen! Without your help we will not be able to do this!

Scarlet Stories verkent de duistere plaatsen van de wereld in hun progressieve, eclectische muziek; het ene moment fragiel en rustig, het andere moment intens, sterk en rauw!
Beste allemaal,
Wij zijn Scarlet Stories, een progressieve rock/metal band uit Tilburg (NL). Hierbij zouden we jouw hulp willen vragen bij het realiseren van onze eerste 'full-length' album!
We willen onze muziek op kwalitatief hoog niveau opnemen, zodat het de sfeer, energie en dynamiek weergeeft die we ook op het podium laten zien! Daarom hebben we onze krachten gebundeld met één van de beste producers en muzikanten van Nederland Joost van den Broek (Ayreon, Navarone, VUUR, Marcela Bovio, MaYan) om onze muziek op te nemen in de studio Sandlane Recording Facilities (NL).
Deze samenwerking maakt het mogelijk om onze verhalen exact op te nemen zoals wij ze voor ogen hebben en een extra stap te maken als band! Al het materiaal voor het album is geschreven en we hopen begin 2019 de studio in te gaan.
Over Scarlet Stories
Scarlet Stories maakt een unieke vorm van atmosferische progressieve muziek waarin diverse muziekstijlen samengebracht worden. We creëren en vormen verhalen door middel van muziek. Verhalen over de donkere zijde van de mensheid & emoties, lijden, verlies, schoonheid en moord; geschreven om je tot nadenken te zetten over de wereld waarin we nu leven en geleverd met een indrukwekkende en dramatische live uitvoering.

Om je alvast een indruk te geven van hoe het gaat klinken, hebben we alvast het eerste nummer van het album 'Vingt mille lieues sous les mers' opgenomen in studio Sandlane! Dit verhaal is geïnspireerd op het science-fiction verhaal van Jules Verne. Het nummer duurt 11.22 minuten en beschrijft de personage en innerlijke strijd van Kapitein Nemo.
Tekenaar Jelle Steenhuisen (Karmaflow, ODDfigures' Babu) heeft het fantastische artwork gemaakt voor de single (zie boven). Speciaal voor de crowdfunding campagne brengen we dit nummer ook uit als fysieke single!
We hebben de opname, mix, mastering, druk en videoclip geheel zelf gefinancierd van het geld dat we hebben gespaard van optredens, verkoop van merch, bijdragen aan onze muziek en uiteraard van ons eigen spaargeld. Echter, om een volledig album op te nemen hebben we jullie hulp nodig om geld in te zamelen! Zonder jullie hulp zouden we dit niet kunnen doen.
