here the final update regarding the status of the perks.

-Coffee date during summer: alle coffee dates zijn eerder ingepland en op een na die nog in augustus zal plaatsvinden, hebben de andere ook al allemaal plaatsgevonden.

-Compository lecture on KE9: the compository lecture took place at the end of July near London. The lecture went pretty good, though attendance was a bit below expectations, so we weren't able to get a full ROI as regards this project. Nevertheless, by recommendation of a friend from the choir I sing in and by my courtesy you can find a recording of the lecture for free on my Youtube. You might want to skip to the second part or so, because the initial introduction is just about the explanation of some theoretical terms mostly, after which the actual analysis is discussed, first generally and then more in-detail (partially taped).

-Recording of our performance at the festival: we already came to a conclusion as regards the best audio combinations to combine with the video some time ago. My friend, the pianist of the ensemble, who's got better or more advanced editing programs is working on the combination/finalisation and as soon as he's done I'll send it to you. I hope we'll be able to send it fairly quickly, but then again he is on a holiday right now, so it could take longer than I'd hope.

As you can read we're almost done with delivering all the promised perks and thus have hereby a positive wrapping up and after-phase of the At the Watergate project. Hopefully everybody is very pleased with their perks and we look forward to your support should there be another project like this one in the future. here an update regarding the status of the perks.

-Digitally sent autographed photo of ELP 9: by now all of you should have received your own unique autographed picture via the mail, we put our hearts into making them interesting and different.

-Coffee date during summer: de coffee dates in Nederland zullen (hopelijk) plaatsvinden in augustus en wij houden via de mail contact om een datum te prikken per coffee date.

-Compository lecture on KE9: the compository lecture will take place in Britain, somewhere around London (we're almost done, signing the contract now for hiring the location), from 20:00 to 22:00 on July 28th. Right now, I'm working on the analyses of the piece as well. Once the contract's signed, I'll give you an update via the email on the location (and again time and date) and I look forward to meeting you on the day of the lecture. P.S. The singer of our ensemble will be attending the lecture too.

-Recording of our performance at the festival: right now, as regards the possible audios, we're comparing which we find to be the best of all, which one will be combined with the video. I intend for this to take no longer than two more weeks and hopefully we'll send you the audio after just one week.

Dear supporters, thanks to you we've managed to reach 90% of our target, a splendid result and indeed a successful crowdfunding campaign for a great project keeping the ELP legacy alive.

Thank you so much for having supported us, friends, family and (ELP) fans, we appreciate it very much.

Now then, as to the chosen perks (in return for the donations), we'd like to ask for your patience, for I'm in my exam period at university now, after which I will see to the perks straight away; this means you'll receive your perks in about a month (perhaps sooner for some, but no sooner than three weeks).

Perks that were chosen include:

-Digitally sent autographed photo of ELP 9: as soon as the exams are over, I'll move around the country to the north where our ensemble resides and we'll all put our autographs on a group pic, then I'll scan it and send it to you digitally. And, yes, you'll each get your own unique autographed picture (no four will be the same).

-Coffee date during summer: iedereen die deze tegenprestatie heeft gekozen, is Nederlands, vandaar dat de coffee dates in Nederland zullen plaatsvinden deze zomer. Na mijn examens, zal ik via de mail contact opnemen met jullie om een datum te prikken per coffee date.

-Compository lecture on KE9: the compository lecture, given those of you that chose for this perk, will take place in Britain. I am still looking into possible dates for I'll be in Britain this summer with a choir from July 24d through the 29th, but I'll be dependent on a friend of mine for transportation and he still has to discuss the matter and possibilities with his job/boss.
So, my initial plan (for which I have not yet had confirmed the possibility by my friend) would be to have the compository lecture take place somewhere around London, in that area, say from 19:00 or 20:00 to 22:00 somewhere at the end of July (July 30th, 31st or August 1st); I'd love to hear from those that will be attending this lecture for the donations given whether this would be a good option for them as well, given their locations in England and perhaps holidays. You can contact me with this email-adress ([email protected]) and please do so a.s.a.p. so that I can book the location for the lecture a.s.a.p. after the exams as well. Fun fact, Carl Palmer's ELP Legacy performs in London on August 2d, another reason for this initial plan.

-Recording of our performance at the festival: while I'm working hard on my exams, a friend of mine is already looking into the best possible ways of combining the different audio sources we have with the video; we have obviously the audio of the video, but also audio of a professional audio-capturing device of some sort, but then again, the one recorded on one end of the stage, the other on the other and hence depending on the section given you might want a different balance in sound between the instruments (to match more to the original studio version), so we're looking into different ways of combining them and into the audios themselves, comparing which we find to be the best of all, which then will be combined with the video. Clearly this will take quite some time, so this might take a full month, as we want to give you the best possible quality.

Hopefully we've informed you as much as you would like on the perks.
Again, thank you very much for your support and hopefully the contingencies of the stones of years (or sooner) will allow for us to give another ELP performance in the future, at which we'd love to see you present and for which we'd love to have your support again.

Not only were there a lot of people in the audience, all around the stage, and not only did people from multiple countries (Italy, UK, France) come to us afterwards to thank us for the performance, but we even made the paper.
The Leeuwarder Courant included an article on the festival the next day after the performance, on May 11th, and besides being incredibly positive as regards the festival it also included just a few (four) of the great many ensembles by name that apparently had caught the writer's eye and mesmerized him, amongst which: ELP 9.
We're very happy that the writer of the article enjoyed the festival just as much as all us musicians performing at the festival and the audience did and we're thrilled he also found our ensemble interesting enough to report on.

Translation of the article (to English): "Walking around the area one comes across some quite surrealistic sounds. At the Schaapmarkt the most famous synthesizerintro in history: that of The Final Countdown, from Europe. Here divided over the musicians of Dechovy Orchestra Krumlov, from Czechia. And an Emerson, Lake & Palmer-tributeband in the form of ELP 9, including three keyboardists and coming straight from Friesland - I too did not see that coming."

*After the performance past Thursday lots of people, from many countries too (such as England, France, Italy), came to thank us for the ELP performance they enjoyed so much. Some of them were fervent ELP fans, others as musicians knew all the ins and outs of playing the music too; some of them even came especially for our performance to the festival and one such gentleman told us he'd hoped we'd also play Peter Gunn in the encore, as this too is a famous ELP classic. Well, there you have it, with this donation comes a perk that is a highly exclusive private concert that indeed includes other ELP classics, such as Peter Gunn.

What an amazing show; we started of with I think 2-3 rows of people, but by the end of the encore in front of the stage there were over 5 rows of people, I couldn't count how many anymore, might have been half the entire square, which would be as many as could still properly hear the music (given the distance) - oh, there were even people at the back of the stage, they were all around, they were everywhere.

By now we've already received a support of €315; what a great start. We thank all our lovely and supportive donors. Because we've had such a fantastic experience at the festival past Thursday (both regards the musical result of our performance and regards the liveliness of the ever increasing crowd) we have decided to extend our campaign up to May 22d. In order to give you an impression of the splendid (free) performance at At the Watergate we'll post some pictures today and later on even a short video of the performance. Hopefully, with only 5 more days of crowdfunding to go, a successful crowdfunding campaign to cover all the costs of the performance will become the icing on the cake of an amazing show.
