TINKER & EMBODIED LOVE DATA is een afstudeer project van Richelle Smits. Ze is student aan het AKV St. Joost Breda en wil graag in Juni 2020 haar diploma ontvangen.

Haar afstudeer project is een performance waar je als toeschouwer aan kan deelnemen! TINKER & EMBODIED LOVE DATA is een (mock-up) online dating bedrijf (link naar website), die onze maatschappij weerspiegeld als het komt op data misbruik en online dating.

Op spelenderwijs ga je samen met de performer onderzoeken wat nodig is om een connectie met iemand te krijgen, iets wat voortaan steeds oppervlakkiger wordt in onze onlinedatingwereld. Dit doen we op een humoristische en interactieve manier, omdat we ervan overtuigd zijn dat mensen dan het beste worden geïnformeerd over situaties die nu relevant zijn in onze maatschappij. Vanuit die betrokkenheid willen we mensen een echte ervaring meegeven, in plaats van alleen naar beelden te kijken aan de muur.

WIE ZIJN WIJ?
Richelle Smits is aan het afstuderen op het AKV St. Joost als media vormgever. Ze werkt samen met performer Suus Hoppenbrouwers, ontwerper Dirk van den Heuvel, sound designer Patrick Kasl en videograaf Giovanni Boerjan om dit afstudeerproject te kunnen realiseren.

WAT WIL IK VERTELLEN?
Richelle wil niet langer zwijgen en wil een bijdrage leveren aan het doorbreken van de verkilde maatschappij van dit moment. Ze heeft veel onderzoek gedaan en vele mensen gesproken over de positieve en negatieve kant van online daten. Met dit project wil ze mensen ervan bewustmaken dat een connectie tussen twee mensen zoveel meer is dan 'Tinder matches' en tekstuele berichtjes naar elkaar sturen. Ze hoopt hiermee eenzaamheid en cyberbullying tegen te gaan.

Verder neemt de performance ook een andere wending! Het gaat ook over de bewustwording van onze persoonlijke gegevens die we zonder na te denken online delen en makkelijk weggeven aan mobiele applicaties.

Wist je bijvoorbeeld dat bedrijven expres hun privacy beleid heel goed verstoppen als je een nieuw account aanmaakt, zodat jij je er minder bewust van bent dat ze jouw persoonlijke gegevens doorverkopen naar een derde partij?

Maar we gaan natuurlijk nu niet het begin, midden en einde van de performance in detail vertellen, we willen dat je het komt beleven!

WAT HEB IK NODIG?
Voordat we de installatie kunnen exposeren, moeten we eerst creëren. Naast het schetsen van de ruimte en het houden van veel repetities, wordt er veel gezocht naar de juiste materialen, geëxperimenteerd met techniek en wordt de installatie gebouwd waarin alles samenkomt.

Dit alles komt neer op behoorlijk wat materiaalkosten. Naast de persoonlijke investeringen, zijn we op zoek naar donateurs die ons willen helpen ons project te kunnen verwezenlijken.

Vorderingen zullen we zowel hier (Voor de Kunst) als op onze Instagram en Facebookpagina tonen. De mensen krijgen de mogelijkheid om deze unieke ervaring te beleven.

EXPOSITIE DATA
De interactieve performance zal voor het eerst geëxposeerd worden in de Stichting Bock vlakbij Breda, Paterserf 10,4904 AR Oosterhout, van 29 tot en met 31 mei 2020.

Rond juni/juli 2020 wordt de performance getoond in de AKV St. Joost academie in Breda. De exacte datums worden later nog bekend gemaakt.

TINKER & EMBODIED LOVE DATA is a graduation project from Richelle Smits. She is a student at the AKV St. Joost Breda and would like to receive her diploma in June 2020.

Her graduation project is a performance in which you can participate as a spectator! TINKER & EMBODIED LOVE DATA is a (mock-up) online dating company (link to website), which reflects our society when it comes to data abuse and online dating.

It is an interactive performance! Together with the performer, you will investigate in a playful way what is needed to get a connection with someone. This is something that is becoming more superficial in our online dating world. We do this in a humorous and interactive way because we are convinced that people will learn faster about situations that are now relevant. From that involvement, we want to give people a real experience, instead of just looking at images on the wall.

WHO ARE WE?
Richelle Smits is graduating at the AKV St. Joost as a media designer. She works together with performer Suus Hoppenbrouwers, designer Dirk van den Heuvel, sound designer Patrick Kasl and video designer Giovanni Boerjan to realize this graduation project.

WHAT DO I WANT TO TELL?
Richelle no longer wants to remain silent and wants to contribute to breaking through the cold society of the moment. She did a lot of research and talked to many people about the positive and negative side of online dating. With this project, she now wants to make people aware that the connection between two people is so much more than 'Tinder matches' and send text messages to each other.

Furthermore, the implementation also takes on another! It is also about the awareness of our personal data that we share online without thinking and give it away to mobile applications.

For example, did you know that companies intentionally hide their privacy policy very well when you create a new account, so that you are less aware that your personal information is being sold to a third party?

But of course, we are not going to tell the beginning, middle and end of the performance, we want you to experience it with us!

WHAT DO I NEED?
Before we can exhibit the installation, we must first create. In addition to sketching the space and conducting many rehearsals. There is a lot of searching for the right materials, experimented with technology and the installation is built to bring everything together.

All this comes down to quite a few material costs. In addition to my own personal investments, I am also looking for donors who want to help me to cause my graduation project.

I will show here (For the Art) as well as on the Instagram and Facebook page. People get the opportunity to experience this unique performance.

EXPOSITION DATA
The interactive performance will be exhibited for the first time in the Bock Foundation near Breda, Paterserf 10.4904 AR Oosterhout, from 29 to 31 May 2020.

Around June / July 2020 the show will be shown at the AKV St. Joost Academy in Breda. The exact dates will be announced later.
