Who is Nubim?

I, Nubim, am a versatile Korean musician and composer, who combines my background in architecture with a unique approach to composition. The musical style which I pursue is more than traditional jazz, but 'MY music' as a mixture of jazz, classical and film music.

What is the speciality of Nubim's new album?

I studied architecture at university and worked as an architect before coming to music. During my master's degree at Codarts (Rotterdam conservatory, Netherlands), I studied the musicalization of architecture for my artistic research, and I have continued to work on this subject till now. Recently I began to broaden my horizon by the translating of literature into music.

Also I studied both jazz and classical music. I compose music that breaks the boundaries between jazz and classical music.

The upcoming album contains my compositions about architecture and literature written in the Netherlands in the last four years. It will be an innovative record that proposes new approaches to music and the possibility of creative way to compose.

Among the tracks on the CD, there is an electronic piece 'Between Silence and Light' which was awarded at ICMC2018 (International Computer Music Conference), and also there is an organ piece 'Chapel of Light' which was world-premiered by a great organ player Hayo Boerema at the Laurenskerk.

All the compositions in Nubim's new album are published by Donemus. Nubim's artistic research about "The Musicalization of Architecture" is published as well.
