Deze zomer heb ik de cello gevonden die mijn droom professioneel celliste te worden werkelijkheid kan maken. Wil jij me helpen dit instrument aan te schaffen?

Ik ben Floor Bakker en sinds ik 7 ben is cello spelen mijn grootste passie. Ik studeer nu cello aan het conservatorium in Tilburg bij Paul Uyterlinde en zit in het laatste jaar van de bachelor. Om dan aan het professionele leven als cellist te beginnen, heb ik nog een ding nodig: een cello. Na een lange zoektocht heb ik inmiddels een prachtig instrument gevonden, dat me al sinds de zomer gelukkig maakt. Dit instrument wil ik dolgraag blijven bespelen, wat betekent dat ik het moet kopen... Met bijdragen van familie en fondsen (via Stichting Eigen Muziekinstrument en het Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds Brabant) is de financiering inmiddels bijna rond, maar voor het laatste stukje heb ik jullie hulp nodig. Door een donatie te doen, breng je mijn droomcello weer een stukje dichterbij mij... Voor elke donatie, klein of groot, ben ik je ontzettend dankbaar!

Mijn droomcello

Twee jaar geleden werd het duidelijk dat ik een betere cello nodig had om mij als musicus verder te ontwikkelen. Bijna een heel jaar ben ik op zoek geweest en heb in die tijd allerlei instrumenten uit Nederland, België en Duitsland op proef gehad. Tot ik deze zomer mijn droomcello vond bij Gudrun Kremeier in Amsterdam! Zij heeft dit instrument in 2016 gemaakt naar model van de Venetiaanse cello uit 1730 van Matteo Goffriller. De cello heeft een prachtige volle klank en ligt heel fijn in de hand. Hij heeft me sinds ik hem gevonden heb al veel vooruit geholpen en ik weet zeker dat hij dat de komende tijd zal blijven doen!

Projecten

Wat ben ik precies allemaal van plan met deze cello de komende maanden? Je kunt het allemaal lezen op mijn website: www.floorbakker.nl. In de laatste week van 2018 ben ik in Heeswijk bij het Cugnon Project, om samen met docenten en studenten van conservatoria en leden van professionele orkesten in Nederland kamermuziekconcerten te geven. Eind januari ga ik met het Nationaal Jeugdorkest op tournee naar Wenen, om daar Mahlers 9e symfonie in de Wiener Musikverein te spelen. Met deze cello kan ik ook bij mijn positie als remplaçant bij het Orkest van het Oosten uit de voeten en krijgt mijn duo met Alba Calle Valiente (hier hoort u een klein stukje opname van aan het begin van de video) weer nieuwe groeikansen.

Het eerstvolgende grote project waar ik als solist met deze cello zal optreden, wordt mijn eindexamen op het conservatorium: op 24 juni ga ik mijn studie afsluiten met een groot concert in de Concertzaal Tilburg, met onder meer het celloconcert in A van Robert Schumann met een orkest van medestudenten op het programma. Dit wordt een groots project dat een samenwerking is met Ximo Tarín-Micó, een groeiende bekendheid als dirigent en componist en Nuno Silva, een zeer getalenteerde saxofonist, die van dit project zijn masterexamen maakt. This summer I found the cello that can make my dream come true: to become a professional cellist. Would you help me buy this instrument?

My name is Floor Bakker and since my seventh it is my passion to play the cello. Currently I’min the final year of my bachelor cello study withPaul Uyterlinde at the Conservatory Tilburg. After finalizing my studies I need one more thing to become a professional cellist: an excellent cello. This summer I was very lucky to find a beautiful instrument. This instrument has already helped me tremendously to develop myself further as a musician. And to be able to keep playing this wonderful instrument, which I feel is crucial for me to become the cellist I want to be, I have to buy it... Already, with the help of family and funds, a large part of the money has been obtained. However, in order to reach the total sum, I need your help. By making a donation you bring my dream cello closer to me. Any donation, large or small, is very much appreciated!

My dream cello

Two years ago it became obvious that, to be able to develop myself further as a musician, I really needed a better cello. Almost two years I spent searching, and I have tried many instruments. This summer I found an absolutely beautiful cello, built by Gudrun Kremeier, Amsterdam,in 2016! As a model she used a cello built in 1730 by the old Venetian master luthier Matteo Goffriller. Thisnew cello has the same beautiful, warm sound as the old Goffrillers, and it’s an absolute pleasure to play it. This cello has already helped me grow musically, and I’m convinced that it will continue help me develop for many years to come!

Projects

What are my plans with this cello for the upcoming months? You can find the details of all the concerts and projects on my website: www.floorbakker.nl. During the last week of 2019 I will be participating in the Cugnon Project, to play chamber music concerts in and around Heeswijk together with teachers and students of Dutch conservatories and members of professional orchestras in the Netherlands. In January I will be on tour with the Nationaal Jeugd Orkest (National Youth Orchestra) to play Mahlers 9th symphony in many of the beautiful concert halls inthe Netherlands, and also in the Wiener Musikverein.

The first upcoming large project, in which I will have a role as a soloist, will be my final exam at the conservatory of Tilburg. On the 24th of June I will finalize my studies in the Concertzaal Tilburg, playing, among other pieces, the famous Celloconcerto in A by Robert Schumann, with an orchestra of fellow students and friends. This will be in cooperation with Ximo Tarín-Micó, who is quickly growing in fame as a conductor and composer, and Nuno Silva, a very talented saxophone player who will use this project for his final master's exam.
