Wat willen we bereiken? (scroll down for English)
Tijdens een driedaagse workshop krijgt een nieuwe generatie musici de kans zich te verdiepen in improvisatiemuziek, samen met vermaarde musici uit het Doek collectief. We willen talenten stimuleren, inspireren en hun uniciteit tot bloei brengen. Om ons heen zien we veel jonge getalenteerde musici die zich willen ontwikkelen op het gebied van improvisatiemuziek, maar het scholingsaanbod hiervoor is schaars.
Daarom willen wij tijdens ons jaarlijkse Doek Festival (14 t/m 17 juni) een 3-daagse workshop aanbieden. 15 deelnemers zullen diverse aspecten van het improviseren onderzoeken, onder leiding van verschillende Doek musici – stuk voor stuk autoriteiten op het gebied van geïmproviseerde muziek.

Wie zijn wij?
Wij zijn Doek – het muzikantencollectief voor geïmproviseerde muziek in Nederland. Naast concerten organiseren we jaarlijks het Doek Festival in Amsterdam; het enige Nederlandse festival geheel gewijd aan improvisatie. Zo zorgen we voor verdieping en ontwikkeling van improvisatiemuziek en een levendige muziekscene in Amsterdam en Nederland.

What do we want to achieve?
During a three-day workshop a new generation of musicians will explore improvised music, together with musicians from the renowned Doek improvised music collective. We want to inspire and stimulate young talent and help them develop their own musical voice.

All around us we see many young gifted musicians who want to develop their improvised music skills. But workshop opportunities are rare. That is why we want to offer a 3 day workshop during our annual Doek Festival (14 - 17 June). 15 participants will investigate diverse aspects of improvisation, under the direction of different Doek musicians, all of them authorities in the field of improvised music.

Who are we?
We are Doek, the improvised music collective in the Netherlands. Besides lots of concerts and other projects, we organise a yearly Doek Festival, the only Dutch festival dedicated solely to improvisation. We aim to contribute to the development and dissemination of improvised music, and to a flourishing music scene in Amsterdam and the Netherlands.
