NORMA IS LOOKING FOR FANS!

Hi, my name is Anne. I made a photo series about my cleaning lady, Norma. This incredible woman adopted me for a week to show me her life in the notorious town of Chalco in the State of Mexico.

A year ago I moved to Mexico City. My house came with a cleaning lady which made me feel very uncomfortable since I cleaned houses as well before my move. In Mexico the salaries for the uneducated people are so low that having a cleaning lady is far from luxury, it’s standard business.

invited me for a solo exposition of one month in april this year. The Alianza promotes Mexican culture and they are very excited to show the story of Norma in their gallery that is based in Polanco, one of the richest neighborhoods of Mexico City. This exposition will be symbolic for the extreme differences between the rich and the poor.

I'm cleary not one of them, so I need your help.

To leave a great impression on the public of this expo I need to have big sized prints. To tell the complete story I want to expose around 30 photos. To be able to do this, I need your financial support.

A bit about me

In 2014 I graduated at the Fotoacademie of Amsterdam. I specialise in the documentary portrait. I see photography as an endless collection of people, places and stories. To expand my collection I decided to move to Mexico City. An adventure and new inspiration.
