Het Castello Consort is een jong ensemble dat zich richt op de historische uitvoering van 16e- en 17e-eeuwse muziek. Denk dan bijvoorbeeld aan Italiaanse componisten zoals Monteverdi, Frescobaldi, Castello en Cesare. Maar ook Sweelinck, De Selma, Ortiz en onbekende componisten staan regelmatig op het programma.

Alle ensembleleden zijn studenten van Oude Muziek afdeling van het Koninklijk Conservatorium. De basis van het ensemble (een trio van klavecimbel, barokcello en baroktrombone) heeft het afgelopen jaar al een aantal concerten gegeven op mooie locaties. Dit jaar zullen ze ook nog op het BRQ Festival (Vantaa, Finland), het MAfestival (Brugge, België) en het Festival Oude Muziek (Utrecht) spelen.

Deze zomer zullen we als ensemble een concertreis maken naar Noorwegen en Nederland. Onderaan deze pagina staan alle tournee-concerten in een overzicht. Voor álle concerten van het ensemble kunt u een kijkje nemen op onze website castelloconsort.com.

Nederland is een van de landen waar de historische uitvoeringspraktijk ontstaan is. In veel andere landen (waaronder ook Noorwegen) is deze speelwijze nog onbekend. We willen daarom graag buiten Nederland concerten geven, en daar ook contacten opbouwen. Één van de ensembleleden is zelf Noorse. Dat geeft ons extra veel mogelijkheden voor bijzondere concertlocaties en publiek.

Voor de tournee moeten we helaas wel kosten maken. De reiskosten zijn de grootste kostenpost. De vliegreis van en naar Noorwegen is het duurste (de instrumenten moeten ook mee...), maar ook aan treinreizen binnen de landen zijn we behoorlijk wat geld kwijt. Daarnaast huren we zelf concertlocaties, zullen we promotiemateriaal en programmaboekjes laten drukken, en moeten we verblijf regelen.

Een deel van de onkosten is dit crowdfundingproject geworden. We zijn u erg dankbaar wanneer u ons helpt, en geven u graag iets terug. U kunt bijvoorbeeld kaarten voor een concert naar keuze krijgen, óf een dvd ontvangen met de mooiste opnames van onze concertreis.

The Castello Consort is a young ensemble, specialized in the historical performance of 16th- and 17th-century music. This repertoire contains composers like Monteverdi, Frescobaldi, Castello en Cesare. But also Sweelinck, De Selma, Ortiz and unknown composers are often part of the programs.

All musicians are students at the Early Music department of the Royal Conservatoire (The Netherlands). The core of the ensemble (a trio of harpsichord, baroque cello and sackbut) played quite some concerts at beautiful locations in the past year. This year, they will also perform at the BRQ Festival (Vantaa, Finland), at the MAfestival (Bruges, Belgium) and at the Utrecht Early Music Festival (The Netherlands).

This summer, we are planning to do a concert tour through Norway and The Netherlands. At the bottom of this page you can find an overview of all concerts in this tour. For all concerts of the ensemble, you are very welcome to visit our website castelloconsort.com.

The historical performance practice has its roots in The Netherlands. In many other countries (like Norway), this way of playing music is still unknown. For this reason, we like to extend our concerts outside The Netherlands. Also to get more contacts with musicians in this country. One of the ensemble members is a Norwegian herself, which gives us a lot of extra opportunities for unique concert locations and audience.

For the tour, we unfortunately have to spend a lot of money. Travel expenses are the major part of this money. The flight to and from Norway is the most expensive (we have to travel with our own instruments...), but also traveling by train is not cheap. Besides that, we will hire concert locations, we have to print programs and promotion material, and we need accommodation.

Part of the expenses became this crowdfunding project. We are very thankful for your donations, and we like to give you something in return. You could for example get tickets for one of our concerts, or you can receive a dvd with the best recordings of our concert tour.

Toekomstige donateurs: ook wanneer we de 100% al bereikt hebben is elke verdere donatie meer dan welkom! De 100% zorgt ervoor dat we ons project met minimale uitgaven kunnen voltooien. Alle extra donaties geven ons echter mogelijkheden om bijvoorbeeld de kwaliteit van video- en geluidsopnamen (voor de dvd) nog beter te maken, om mooiere (en meer) posters en programmaboekjes te laten drukken en andere extra's. Van harte aanbevolen dus!

For the ones who still want to donate something: even when we reached 100%, every further donation is more than welcome! With 100%, we can finance our project with minimal spendings. Eventual extra budget will make it possible for us to for example improve the quality of video- and sound-recordings (for the dvd), more and more beautiful posters and programs, and other extras.
