We, the students of the MA Non-Linear Narrative department of the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague, would like to ask you to contribute to this fundraising for our graduation exhibition. Entitled “Elephants In The Room”.
At Non Linear Narrative we, as artists and designers coming from different backgrounds and fields of interest, use investigative journalism, forensic research, design methodologies and the visual arts, to create narratives that deconstruct and reconstruct how we experience the world. Our power is in the storytelling, as we offer different perspectives on socio-political issues.
Elephants In The Room refers to an obvious problem or difficult topic that remains avoided. Within this exhibition we do not avoid the elephant, we engage with it! As a group we explore themes such as: world building, care, culture, tradition & touristification, ritual, artificial light pollution and the staging of the night, death in the digital space, soul searching and self exploration and queering the body as well as the fictionality of identity. ‘Elephants In The Room’ will be an interdisciplinary show, where mediums such as video, sound, projection, installation, performance, sculptures and printing techniques will create hybrid environments to explore.
In order for these works to reach their full potential, we need your help, by asking for a (small) contribution. This will aid us in financing our projects, pay for materials, facilitate transportation, finance needed equipment and cover printing costs. Help us to bring our projects to full fruition and create a memorable gradshow!
In return we offer our eternal gratitude, and with certain donations, we also offer rewards such as: bookmarkers, stickers, postcards, riso prints and A3 posters.
Please consider supporting our campaign and we hope to see you at our show, taking place at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague, from June 27th – July 2nd, 2024.
