Ali Seif, interdisciplinary artist

Hi, I'm Ali, an interdisciplinary artist studying Arts in Maastricht.... I've spent most of my life in Iran producing and performing music as a solo artist and a band leader. My friends and I have performed many shows in the underground scene of Iran, UAE, and Turkey. It has always been a dream for me to study in an institute where I can learn new disciplines and express myself freely through art. It's been almost 2 years since I came to the Netherlands, and I cherish the freedom, education, and people I have with here. However, recently every time that I see them smiling at me, a sense of fear and sadness strike me. Due to the sanctions, Dutch banks and Iranian banks don't have transactions and it is almost impossible for me to get my money out of the country. I'm also not sure if I go back there, I'll be able to come back to the Netherlands because of the political situation in Iran, and the kind of music/material that I produce is considered satanic there. The police and the authorities wouldn't let me or my band perform and we had been threatened by them. I must pay 10500 Euros to the university each year which I could manage until now with the overseas family support and working part-time at a delivery company all weekends. I have put all of my instruments on sale and I'm working hard, but I will need your help to finish the remaining months of my study. I'll be needing 4000 Euros for my tuition fee and I very much appreciate any amount of support you can provide.
