HET BOEK

Het boek wordt geen klassiek kunstboek dat de carrière van de kunstenaar samenvat, wel een momentopname waarin de exploten van Kristof Van Heeschvelde aan bod komen; van zijn levensgrote schilderijen die de kunstgeschiedenis met het banale alledaagse verbinden, de rol die taal speelt in zijn werk, zowel als verflaag als absurde hoofdrolspeler,
zijn performances waarin hij zijn naam tot merk verheft, zijn tentoonstellingen waarbij zijn schilderijen van de haak worden gehaald, tot zijn Nederlandstalige liedjes.
En ja, het wordt serieus grappig!

DE PARTNERS

Hopper & Fuchs is een uitgeverij gespecialiseerd in kunstpublicaties van hedendaagse kunstenaars. Samen met de uitgever stelt Kristof het boek samen en krijgt het vorm. Hopper & Fuchs zal er ook voor zorgen dat het boek (inter)nationaal verdeeld wordt en in de boekhandel verkrijgbaar zal zijn.

Berserk Art Agency is het agentschap voor beeldende kunst waarmee Kristof al sinds 2018 samenwerkt. Zij zorgen ervoor dat alle partners met elkaar verbonden worden en dat het boek gerealiseerd en gepresenteerd kan worden op mooie plekken.

Heiko Klaas & Nicole Büsing zijn 2 Duitse kunstcritici die regelmatig schrijven voor kunstmagazines zoals Monopol, Artmapp, Artist Kunstmagazin en voor Der Spiegel, Zeitkunst, Tagesspiegel, etc.
Heiko en Nicole schrijven een tekst over het werk van Kristof en zijn link met Duitse kunstenaars zoals Neo Rauch en Jörg Immendorff.

Museum Dhondt - Dhaenens is het Belgische museum dat de collectie van de familie Dhondt - Dhaenens beheert en jaarlijks hedendaagse kunstenaars uitnodigt voor een tentoonstelling. De boekvoorstelling van 'Serieus Grappig' zal plaatsvinden bij Museum Dhondt - Dhaenens op 07.05.2023.

JOUW STEUN

Het is geweldig dat we met zoveel mooie partners kunnen samenwerken om het boek te realiseren en te presenteren aan een breed publiek. Ter voorbereiding hebben we al behoorlijk wat stappen gezet en dat deel hebben we zelf gefinancierd.
We hebben alle beelden verzameld, het concept met de uitgever besproken en goedgekeurd, de partners bij elkaar gebracht en de kosten voor de teksten financieren we zelf.

Wat ons nog rest is het drukken van het boek. Daarvoor hebben we deze Serieus Grappig-crowdfunding opgezet. Een deel van de financiering hiervoor hebben we al zelf voorzien, maar we komen nog een deel tekort.

'Serieus Grappig' (Seriously Funny) will be the name of the book that artist Kristof Van Heeschvelde wants to realize in collaboration with a whole group of passionate people: Hopper & Fuchs (the publisher), Berserk Art Agency (the agent) and Heiko Klaas & Nicole Büsing (the art critics).

THE BOOK

The book will not be a classic art book that summarizes the artist's career, but rather a snapshot that covers Kristof Van Heeschvelde's exploits; from his life-size paintings that connect art history with the banal everyday, the role that language plays in his work, both as a layer of paint and absurd protagonist, his performances in which he elevates his name to a brand, his exhibitions in which his paintings are taken off the hook, to his Dutch-language songs.
And yes, it gets seriously funny!

Hopper & Fuchs is a publishing house specializing in art publications by contemporary artists. Together with the publisher, Kristof will compose and shape the book. Hopper & Fuchs will also ensure that the book is distributed (inter)nationally and will be available in bookstores.

YOUR SUPPORT

It is great that we can work with so many wonderful partners to realize the book and present it to a wide audience. In preparation, we have already taken quite a few steps and we financed this part ourselves.
We collected all the images, discussed and approved the concept with the publisher, brought the partners together, and we financed the costs for the texts ourselves.

What remains for us is to print the book. For that, we have set up this Serieus Grappig//Seriously Funny crowdfunding. We have already provided some of the funding for this ourselves, but we are still short a bit.
