On the 13 - 15th of May, the graduating bachelor and master students of the ArtScience Interfaculty from The Hague will present: 'Chronic Now' - a three day multi-disciplinary exhibition festival located at a great location. (soon to be announced)
We are a collective of 15 young artists (see list below) with varying backgrounds, skills and probable futures. Towards the end of our studies we want to gather ourselves and our graduation works in an effort to be in the Chronic Now.
Excuse me, but what is 'Chronic Now'?
The Chronic Now is a paradox. 'Chronic' denotes something enduring , while 'Now' is an ungraspable fleeting moment in time. Being in the Chronic Now acknowledges that we're always to late to change the now, but on time to change the future. It acknowledges that problems come from possibilities and possibilities come from problems, It is what slips out of hand and refuses to settle but becomes normalised. It is the generator of uncertainty and the way to deal with that. As a collective we believe 'Chronic Now' carries a fragile urgency that deserves to be manifested.
Can you be a bit more concrete?
The exhibition festival will consist of various performances, installations and workshops containing sounds, visuals, bodies, body-extensions, movements and smells. In one shared location with both an ongoing and a scheduled program, the visitor will be able to explore and discover, doubt and question, take part and experience.
The ArtScience interfaculty is situated both within the Royal Academy of the Arts and the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague. The program considers art and science as a continuum and fosters curiosity-driven research as an approach to the making of art. (visit the ArtScience Interfaculty here)
I you want to know about the progress of the crowdfunding, artistic developments and other events;
The Financing part :
As a collective we have built up a community and hosted a number of fundraising events. Now all members of the collective showcase their works in one festival, at one location.
For the exhibition we are seeking national and international support. Our current funding includes the sponsors from our schools (The Royal Academy of Art and The Royal Conservatoire The Hague), and previous event revenues. To successfully fulfil our vision and mission, we are seeking your contribution to help achieve a target of €3200 in this crowdfunding.
Your donation will help us cover:
- Rent of a beautiful location, with enough space and technical possibilities to facilitate the different performances and installations.
- Costs of necessary technical equipment, such as lighting and audio equipment.
- Transportation costs
- Promotion costs
The event is a non-profit, co-funded and co-supported program that will be accessible free-of-charge to an (inter)national audience.
