Since that time the need to share the hope we have with the world has grown even more crucial!
We reached 100%! New goal of 118% set!
It's amazing! We made the 100% target! THANK YOU again for all your support in this and your comments. So encouraging! We've now set a new target to see if we can raise a further €1500,- to make the Release Party Online even more special! Will you help us with that? We have until Fri 9th April 2021 to reach that!
Good Medicine EP
Before the crisis had even begun a particular bible verse was speaking to me:
“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones” - Proverbs 17:22 NIV
How can we be cheerful in these difficult times, you might ask? We know that through Jesus, we can experience peace in our hearts despite what may be going on around us. If we trust Him we can be confident that a time will come when God will wipe every tear from our eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain.
By February 2020, Jonny had written the song Good Medicine based on that verse.
We want to record a quality EP of that title to reach those who feel lost or hopeless; that they too may experience the joy we have - that for all who believe there is a good ending to this whole story!
Our plan for 2021 is to make a high-quality recording of 6 tracks in May that we plan to release in August (DV).
Tracks planned are:
- Jesus Will Never Let You Down - a song written by our former pianist Mark van der Feen (with a Caribbean flavour!)
- Good Medicine - the aforementioned title track written by Jonny
- Gate of Mercy - a sweet ballad penned by Jonny
- There Must Be An Angel (Playing With My Heart) - a song written by the band Eurythmics (with very slightly altered lyrics) that led Jonny to the Lord back in 1998. Yes! If God can't reach you through a hymn He'll use secular music to get your attention, like He did with me!
- What You Live For - new song from Jonny
- Everything - Michael Buble cover with 25% altered lyrics making it all about Jesus! (Universal Music Publishing has given us permission to release it! Hallelujah!)
Release Party Online
On Sat 3rd July we also have planned a Release Party Online from the same studio where we recorded the EP. We'll be performing the songs from Good Medicine EP plus old and new Jazzuits favourites. Why not buy a ticket for that as your contribution? It's going to be top-quality audio and video and a fun evening capturing the much loved 'live' aspect of what we do! You'll find it in the rewards list.
We have rehearsal dates planned to bring the tracks up to a high level of musicianship! In fact, they're already sounding rather nice!

Steun ons bij het brengen van het goede nieuws van Jezus door middel van jazzmuziek
Sinds 2011 hebben Jonny & the Jazzuits de harten van velen in binnen en buitenland gestimuleerd. Vanaf maart 2020 stopten de concerten helaas, inclusief het annuleren van onze geplande Live in Amsterdam uitvoering om opgenomen en gefilmd te worden. Sinds die tijd is de behoefte om de hoop die we hebben met de wereld te delen nog belangrijker geworden!
Good Medicine EP
Voordat de crisis zelfs maar was begonnen, sprak een bepaald bijbelvers tot mij:
"Een blij hart bevordert de genezing [Good Medicine], maar een neerslachtige geest doet de beenderen verdorren" - Spreuken 17:22 HS
Hoe kunnen we in deze moeilijke tijden opgewekt zijn, vraagt u zich misschien af? We weten dat we door Jezus vrede in ons hart kunnen ervaren, ondanks wat er om ons heen gebeurt. Als we Hem vertrouwen, kunnen we erop vertrouwen dat er een tijd zal komen dat God elke traan uit onze ogen zal wissen. Er zal geen dood, rouw, huilen of pijn meer zijn.
In februari 2020 had Jonny het nummer Good Medicine geschreven op basis van dat vers.
We willen een kwaliteits EP met die titel opnemen om diegenen te bereiken die zich verloren of hopeloos voelen; dat ook zij de vreugde mogen ervaren die wij hebben - dat voor allen die geloven dat er een goed einde komt aan dit hele verhaal!
Ons plan voor 2021 is in mei een hoogwaardige opname te maken van 6 tracks die we in augustus (DV) willen uitbrengen.
De geplande tracks zijn:
- Jesus Will Never Let You Down - een lied geschreven door onze voormalige pianist Mark van der Feen (met een Caribische twist!)
- Good Medicine - het bovengenoemde titelnummer geschreven door Jonny
- Gate of Mercy - een zoete ballad geschreven door Jonny
- There Must Be An Angel (Playing With My Heart) - een nummer geschreven door de band Eurythmics (met heel licht gewijzigde teksten) die Jonny naar de Heer leidde in 1998. Ja! Als God je niet kan bereiken door middel van een hymne, zal Hij wereldlijke muziek gebruiken om je aandacht te trekken, net als bij mij!
- What You Live For - nieuw nummer van Jonny
- Everything - Michael Bublé hit met 25% gewijzigde teksten waardoor het allemaal over Jezus gaat! (Universal Music Publishing heeft ons toestemming gegeven om het uit te brengen! Hallelujah!)
We hebben repetitiedata gepland om de nummers op een hoog muzikaal niveau te brengen! Ze klinken eigenlijk al best aardig!
Release Party Online
Op zaterdag 3 juli hebben we ook een Release Party Online gepland vanuit dezelfde studio waar we de EP hebben opgenomen. We spelen de nummers van Good Medicine EP plus oude en nieuwe Jazzuits-favorieten. Waarom koop je daar geen kaartje voor als je bijdrage? Het wordt audio en video van topkwaliteit en een leuke avond om het geliefde 'live' aspect van wat we doen vast te leggen! Je vindt het in de lijst van tegeprestaties.

Deze variëren van het ontvangen van een ondertekend exemplaar van de EP voordat deze officieel wordt uitgebraakt, tot Jonny die u huis komt opruimen! Wat dacht u daarvan?!
