Art, cinema and literature have always been a huge part of my life. Especially their darker side.
That is why it has always been my dream to create a project that would allow me to combine all these passions.
WRITERS ON CINEMA
"Horror in the Eye of the Beholder" is this dream project.
It contains brand-new interviews - conducted exclusively for this publication - with 18 of the best and most interesting contemporary horror writers. In the interviews the authors discuss their cinematic influences and horror cinema in general.
Each interview is also accompanied by an eye-portrait of the specific writer, hand-drawn with coloured pencils by me.
PASSIONS UNITED
In this way I can showcase my love for horror books and present some of my favourite writers working in the genre today. Since cinema is the main subject of the featured interviews, the project also mirrors my lifelong love for the movies. And finally, through the portraits and illustrations made especially for this publication I can express my passion for drawing.
I also want to show the depth and the diversity of horror as a genre, but also its therapeutic aspect (many writers confess horror actually gives them comfort and a sense of control).
