Eerst Aruba, en dan de rest van de wereld!

Help Crisèn Schorea haar artistiek debuut maken op Aruba.

Wie ben ik?

Mijn naam is Crisèn Schorea (1975, Curaçao). Een bevlogen schrijfster met een eigen gedichtenbundel ( Sinti mi Sintí; 2016), zangeres, oprichtster van 8.40 Band en actrice. Van beroep een sociologe maar met een groot hart voor Performing Arts in alzijn vele vormen.

Mijn artistiek debuut in het buitenland

Mijn doelstelling is om volgend jaar in april voor het eerst met mijn eigen band een wervelende debuut voorstelling te presenteren op Aruba.
Als performer sta ik te popelen om mijn werk te mogen presenteren aan een groot en divers publiek zowel nationaal als internationaal. Aruba en Bonaire staan als eerste op mijn verlanglijst gezien de taal die ons bindt. Ons dushi Papiamentu. Hopelijk krijg ik de kans om mijn werk vervolgens ook in Nederland te presenteren voor een ieder die fan is van poëzie en muziek van Curaçaose bodem.

Waar ben ik trots op?

Met veel plezier draag ik sinds 2003 mijn gedichten voor op de meest uitlopende evenementen; Carifesta 2017 (Barbados), EU Curaçao Desk Seminar, Curaçao Children’s Museum Annual Fundraising Auction, Kosecha Kultural van het PBCF Caribisch Gebied en The Curaçao Inclusion Award, om maar een paar op te noemen. Ik schrijf gedichten die aansluiten bij desbetreffende aangelegenheid of maak een selectie uit mijn gedichtenbundel ‘Sinti mi Sinti’. Ik ben zeer erkentelijk voor de steun van het Prins Bernhard Cultturfonds Caribisch Gebied, Maduro & Curiel’s Bank en Kadanz Uitzendbureau die het mogelijk hebben gemaakt om in 2016 mijn eerste gedichtenbundel te publiceren.

Muziek maken was een lang gekoesterde droom van mij. Om mijn muzikale inspiraties tot bloei te zien komen via de 8.40 Band is voor mij nog steeds onwerkelijk. Ik ben dan ook ontzettend trots op de groei die wij samen inkorte tijd hebben doorgemaakt. Inmiddels hebben wij het voorrecht gehad om op diverse podia te mogen optreden.De 100 jr MCB Bank viering, Kosecha Kultural, Festival Wintertuinen, Siman diKultura, Marshe Beth en Festival di Pueblo is een aantal van ons meest memorabele optredens. Bovendien heb ik met dank aan het Prins Bernhard Cultturfonds Caribisch Gebied, Medical Laboratory Services, ORCO Bank, Tera Percussions en Kadanz Uitzendbureau in 2018 mijn eerste cd album kunnen uitbrengen.

Aruba, en dan de rest van de wereld!

Eerste stop wordt Aruba!. Een kleine 30 minuten vliegen vanuit Curaçao. Ik neem je mee in een magische reis vol muziek en poëzie met mijn persoonlijke verhalen als dansende rode draad. Vol met ‘zjeitu’ (verve en ritme) zal ik gedichten voordragen en nummers zingen waar je gerust mee mag zingen. Het wordt een intieme, interactieve voorstelling met poezie, muziek en participatie van een aantal Arubaanse artiesten. Geplande Datum: Eind April 2020. Locatie: het monumentale Fort Zoutman.

Wat heb ik al geregeld?

Van het Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds Caribisch Gebied heb ik een bedrag toegekend gekregen om de tickets van de bandleden te kunnen dekken. Dit bedrag moet wel uiterlijk voor eind maart 2020 gebruikt worden. Ook het Departement voor Cultuur van Aruba heeft aangegeven open te staan voor een kleine bijdrage aan dit project. Tenslotte neem ik de resterende kosten zoals, documentatie (foto’s en opname), huur & inrichting locatie (stoelen) en promotie voor mijn rekening.

Wat heb ik nog nodig om dit project te kunnen realiseren?

Mijn doelstelling: een totaalbedrag van fl 6.500,- (Ang), €3250. Dit bedrag is bestemd voor 3 belangrijke posten voor de realisatie van mijn ‘Book & CD launch’ op Aruba, namelijk:

• Geluid en licht setup fl. 3.400 / € 1.700
  - Verblijfskostenfl.2.600 / € 1.300 (Crisèn en 7 bandleden x 2 nachten; De bedoeling is dat de band op een vrijdag aankomt, soundcheck doet, de volgende avond optreedt en de zondag weer terugkeert)
• Transport kosten fl. 500/ € 250; transport terplekke voor Crisèn & Band; busje voor 8 pers x 2 dgn
• Indien er meer geld wordt opgehaald dan het streefbedrag zal het surplus, voorzover dat mogelijk is, gebruikt worden voor de aanschaf van een ‘in ears monitor system’ voor de bandleden

Wat kunt u doen om mij te ondersteunen?

Ik wil een ieder die op de één of ander manier wil bijdragen om dit project te realiseren bij voorbaat bedanken. Voor degenen die € 15,- of meer willen bijdragen zorg ik voor een leuke tegenprestatie. Vergeet niet jouw bezorgadres te vermelden . Bijdragen van onder de €15,-zijn uiteraard óók zeer welkom.

Als je niet financieel kunt bijdragen, wat dan?

Who am I?
My name is Crisèn Schorea _(1975, Curaçao). I’m a passionate writer (poetry book ‘Sinti mi Sintí’; (2016), s_inger/ songwriter/ founder of the 8.40 Band and actress. A sociologist by profession, I have always had deep love and admiration for the performing arts in all its forms.

My dream
The next dream to fulfill is making my artistic debut in Aruba in april 2020. As a performer I’m eager to share my art with a big and diverse audience, both local and international. Aruba and Bonaire are on the top of my bucket list seeing the unique language that connects us: our ‘dushi Papiamentu’. After that I hope to be able to perform in the Netherlands and the rest of the world to all fans of Curaçaoan poetry and music.

What I’m proud of
Through the years (since 2003) I’ve had the honor and pleasure to recite my poetry at various events such as Carifesta 2017 (Barbados), EU Curaçao Desk Seminar, Curaçao Children’s Museum Annual Fundraising Auction, Kosecha Kultural by PBCF Caribisch Gebied and The Curaçao Inclusion Award, just to name a few. My poems are either specially made for the occasion, or selected out of my poetry book ‘Sinti mi Sintí’ (=Feel my feelings and/or thoughts), published in 2016 with the support of Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds Caribisch Gebied, Maduro & Curiel’s Bank and Kadanz Uitzendbureau.

Making music was a long-held dream of mine. Seeing my musical inspirations come to life with my band, the 8.40 Band is still unbelievable; a dream come true. I’m super proud of how much we’ve grown in a short period of time. I’m also very thankful for having been granted the opportunity to perform at venues such as the 100th anniversary celebration of the MCB Bank, Kosecha Kultural (art festival), Festival Wintertuinen (literary festival), Siman di Kultura, Marshe Beth and Festival di Pueblo. Above all, I’m thankful for having been able to record my first album titled ‘Morde mi, Kome mi’ (Bite me, Eat me; 2018). This wouldn’thave been possible without the support of Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds Caribisch Gebied, Medical Laboratory Services, ORCO Bank, Tera Percussions and Kadanz Uitzendbureau.

First Aruba, then the rest of the world!
First stop: Aruba! A mere 30-minute flight from Curaçao. Join me on a magical journey full of poetry and music, my personal stories the swaying common thread. It’s going to be an intimate, interactive show, filled with poetry, music and the participation of several Aruban artists. And if my ‘zjeitu’ (verve, enthusiasm) touches you, please feel free to sing and dance along! Target Date: End of April 2020. Location: the monumental Fort Zoutman.

What have I already arranged?
The Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds Caribisch Gebied has already granted this project a sum to cover the Aruba tickets for the band members as long as the funds are utilized before the end of March 2020. The Department of Culture of Aruba has also indicated to be willing to give a small donation for this project. I will cover the remaining expenses such as promotion,documentation (photos & video) and rent & logistics at the venue.

What do I need to realize this project?
My goal is to raise fl. 6,500 (Ang), _approximately € 3250 (Euros_) by February 2020.
This total will help me cover the three important items for the realization of my ‘Book and CD launch’ in Aruba, namely:

• fl. 3400/ €1700 for sound and light set up
• fl. 2600/ €1300 for lodging (Crisèn & 7 band members 2 nights; arrival band and soundcheck on Friday night, presentation on Saturday, departure to Curaçao on Sunday.
• fl.500/ €250 for transportation _(_Crisèn & band members x 2 days)
• Any extra money raised above this goal will go towards an ‘in-ears’ monitor system and uniforms for the band.
