The contemporary Art’otel in Amsterdam has invited Sumi-e and Zen master Beppe Mokuza Signoritti to exhibit his work in their Gallery.
Who are we?
Beppe Mokuza Signoritti has practised Zen- and Japanese Inkpainting for almost 3o years. He teaches all over Europe and there is a special connection to the Netherlands. Since 2011 he visits Holland for workshops and demonstration. We, the Dutch pupils of Beppe Mokuza, are very proud that the Art'otel Amsterdam invited Beppe and we organize this Sumi-e exhibition in Amsterdam. We hope that as many people as possible can experience the magic of Japanese Inkpainting in the heart of Amsterdam!
Please, can you help us fill the empty spaces with new and exciting works? The more donations we receive, the more works will be on display.
The Dance of the Brush project consists of:
- An exhibition of various styles of Japanese Ink Painting (Sumi-a Zenga technique) by Sumi-master Beppe Mokuza Signoritti. The paintings are an expression of his deep spiritual search that has come to fruition through his years of practice of Zen which is reflected in his work.
He works with traditional oriental brushes or various sizes on rice paper and traditional scrolls. Sponsors can contribute to the organization of the exhibition, for example the costs of materials so that a wide range of works will be possible.
- Interactive meetings with the public.
During the two-month duration of the exhibition, weekly receptions, demonstrations and workshops are offered. Donors can contribute to organizing as many guided tours as possible and guided experiences with Japanese Ink Painting for individuals and groups.
Sponsors needed
To start the exhibition we need € 4,500 for the opening on 24 January 2020. The more we receive, the more paintings will be displayed. We need funds for the brushes, the ricepaper, the scrolls, the frames, the ink and materials to expose all the works.
To fund demonstrations, tours and workshops for the public an additional € 1,500 is needed for different size brushes, practice-paper, ink and guided experiences.
The Opening Night will be on 24th January and when you sponsor the project you will receive a special invitation to the event!
We hope you will be able to visit us during the two months of the exhibition and we are happy to organize guided tours, workshops and demonstration.
