Indisch, dat is niet hetzelfde als Indonesisch. Toch?

In de bundel 'The Journey of Belonging' gaan de Indonesische schrijfster en illustrator Lala Bohang en de Nederlands-Indische schrijfster en historicus Lara Nuberg opzoek naar datgene wat hen bindt. Zijn hun levens door 350 jaar Nederlandse aanwezigheid in de Indonesische archipel onlosmakelijk aan elkaar verbonden? Of heeft de koloniale geschiedenis nauwelijks haar sporen achter gelaten op de levens van deze twee jonge vrouwen?

The Journey of Belonging - a herstory between time and space is een bundel van verhalen, brieven, foto's, tekeningen en vragen. In oktober 2019 presenteren Lala en Lara het boek in Jakarta, tijdens het Literature and Ideas Festival in cultureel centrum Kommunitas Salihara. In november vindt de boekpresentatie plaats in Amsterdam. (Datum en locatie volgt)

Met deze crowdfundingsactie zorg je ervoor dat dit boek er komt! Jouw bijdrage wordt gebruikt voor de vormgeving en het drukken van het boek.

Dit initiatief is ontstaan uit een uitwisselingsproject, georganiseerd door Erasmus Huis, DutchCulture, Het Indisch Herinneringscentrum en Kommunitas Salihara.

The Journey of Belonging (EN)

Being Indo, that is not the same as Indonesian. Right?

In the bundle 'The Journey of Belonging', the Indonesian writer and illustrator Lala Bohang and the Dutch-Indo writer and historian Lara Nuberg explore what binds them together. Are their lives connected by 350 years of Dutch presence in the Indonesian archipelago? Or has colonial history hardly left its mark on the lives of these two young women?

The Journey of Belonging - a herstory between time and space is a bundle of stories, letters, photos, drawings and questions. In October 2019, Lala and Lara will present the book in Jakarta, during the Literature and Ideas Festival at the Kommunitas Salihara cultural center. The book presentation will take place in Amsterdam in November. (Date and location will follow)
