Voor het produceren van een fotoboek ben ik opzoek naar financiering.

Ik ben fotografie student Zoë Sluijs en ik ga voor het eerst een boek publiceren. Daar heb ik jouw hulp bij nodig!

Het verhaal.

In de vorige eeuw ging een klein team van wetenschappers op zoek naar een bewustzijn in gesteente. In mijn boek wordt het verhaal van geoloog Alex Flint verteld. Tijdens het onderzoek schrijft ze in een klein dagboekje op een filosofische manier hoe zij zich bewust werd van de verhouding die ze heeft met het gesteente. Dit is een metafoor voor de relatie tussen mens en natuur. Het afgelopen jaar heb ik mij gerealiseerd dat de natuur amoreel is en absoluut niets om ons geeft. Dit stukje besef ontbreekt in de discussie over klimaat verandering. Dit fotoboek is absoluut niet activistisch, maar laat juist op een poëtische manier een andere kijk zien op de huidige discussies.

Al hoewel het erg geloofwaardig oogt in het boek, is dit onderzoek nooit echt uitgevoerd en bestaat Alex Flint alleen in onze fantasie. Om dit fictieve verhaal tot leven te brengen ben ik samen met Merel Witteman (vormgeving) en Melanie Hyams (tekst) hard aan het werk om een boek te maken. Het ontwerpen en drukken van een boek kost geld.

Voor jouw gulle bijdrage heb ik een aantal leuke tegenprestaties klaarstaan. Daarnaast is het ontzettend fijn als je deze pagina zou willen delen met je vrienden en familie.

I am Zoë Sluijs. I'm a Photography student and this is the first time I will be publishing a photography book. But I need your help!

Story: In the last century, a small team of scientists started a research on consciousness within rock. In my book the story of geologist Alex Flint is told. During the research she wrote in a small diary how she became aware of the relationship she has with the rock in a philosophical way . This is a metaphor for the relationship between humanity and nature. In the past year I realised that nature is amoral and doesn't care about us at all. This awareness is missing in the discussion about climate change today. This book is definitely not activistic, but shows a different perspective on current discussions in a poetic way.

Your help: Although it looks very credible in the book, this research has never really been carried out and Alex Flint only exists in our imagination. To bring this fictional story to life, I am collaborating with Merel Witteman (design) and Melanie Hyams (text) to make a book. Designing and printing a book costs money.
