SUPPORT choreographer DARIO TORTORELLI and his team of artists to create their first multi-sensory performance!

In an experimental collaboration, Dario and a team of multidisciplinary artists seek a balance between theater architecture, sound, spatial installation, and body language. By breaking through the traditional division of roles between spectator and maker we reflect on the physical role of the audience in the creative process. Developing new ways of presenting, creating and observing through a poetic shared experience.

This approach leads to questions such as: how can we transform spaces into such a way that the viewer becomes part of an environment that stimulates the senses beyond the image? What effect does space have on the body? If we become more aware of our physicality, do we also become more aware of our environment?

TRANSMOTION will result in a performance where the audience is invited to explore their senses, in a safe environment celebrated by joyful movements and progressive live music.

We are working hard to make TRANSMOTION a mesmerizing experience, but to get to the final phase of the creation we need your support !!!

Your contribution will able to cover most of the costs we need to finish the set design, music composition, light design, choreography and have technical support during the last building weeks in the theater.

The premiere is planned for the 14th of September at the Theater Rotterdam, Schouwburg.

Meet the team!

Dario Tortorelli is a choreographer, dancer (a.o. Introdans, Conny Janssen Danst, Ann van den Broek). Founder of DIVEinD - visual poetry of performing bodies. An art foundation based in Rotterdam, through which he creates works on the crossing edge between contemporary dance, audiovisual art, and installation.

For TRANSMOTION he has invited talented artists to share this journey!

Rosalie Wammes is a visual artist. With her work, she transforms physical spaces. In 2018 she made "The Landscape Project # 1" for Motel Mozaïekque Festival; a spatial experience with a narrative in color, sound, scent, and sculpture. In TRANSMOTION, while embracing Dario's vision for this performance, she continues the exploration of space.

Thierry Castel is a composer and musician. Thierry and Dario have worked together successfully on the performance D NO BODY 5. Thierry’s music is characterized by nostalgic harmonic content and pliable tonality. It finds a balance where folkloric and classical timbres meet synthetic textures.

To create the world of TRANSMOTION even more inclusive, the light design will be made by Remko van Wely, known for his work with Conny Janssen Danst, Bonte Hond and the Zeeland Late Summer Festival.

The costume design is in the hands of Chiara Amaltea Ciarelli (ao Romeo Castellucci, Opera de Paris Bastille, DIVEinD).

As one of the longtime collaborator in Dario's work and DIVEinD, the dramaturgy and the rehearsals will be led by Judit Ruiz Onandi (ao Ann Van den Broek, Jelena Kostic).
