De Redbourg Group wil graag een album opnemen waarin muziek en de kunst van het highlinen samenkomen: help jij bandleider Yuri zijn droom te realiseren? Lees dan snel verder en kies een van de unieke tegenprestaties uit!

Ik ben Yuri Rhodenborgh, full-time muzikant en bandleider uit Rotterdam. Ook ben ik een highliner. Dat laatste lijkt niet in het rijtje thuis te horen, maar het lopen over een 2,5cm brede lijn over afgronden in de meest ruwe natuur of tussen wolkenkrabbers is in mijn leven samengesmolten met mijn muziek.

De band

In 2016 heb ik de Redbourg Group opgericht, een hedendaagse jazz-band met invloeden uit moderne klassieke muziek. Begin 2018 brachten we onze eerste EP uit, genaamd Traelanipan. Deze EP is vernoemd naar een gigantische zeeklif in de Faröer Eilanden, waar ik diverse highlines heb gelopen.

Het project

Tijdens het schrijven van Traelanipan werd ik mij bewust van de verbinding tussen mijn twee passies, muziek en highlinen. Ik zou hier graag een speciaal album aan wijden. Met dit album wil ik mijn ervaringen als highliner muzikaal vertolken zodat ik jou mee kan nemen de hoogte in, om de vrijheid te ervaren die de bezigheid van het highlinen je kan geven.

Iedere compositie in het album zal gebaseerd zijn op een specifieke highline die ik heb gelopen. Om je nog verder mee te nemen in de beleving zullen er in het CD-boekje foto’s van elke highline staan met een verhaal over de totstandkoming van het stuk en de relatie tot de highline en natuurlijke omgeving zelf.

Wat vraag ik van jou?

Om de opnames in Exalto Studios te Haarlem met Marzio Scholten als producer, het drukken van het album en het mixen en masteren mogelijk te maken heb ik jouw hulp nodig. Met jouw steun kan de Redbourg group mijn composities in een hele hoge kwaliteit produceren.

The Redbourg Group wants to record an album where music and the art of highlining come together; will you help Yuri realize his dream? Continue reading and choose one of the unique rewards!

My name is Yuri Rhodenborgh. I’m a band leader and full-time musician from Rotterdam. I’m also a highliner. Now that may sound like an odd pairing; walking over a 2.5 cm wide line above abysmal heights between cliffs or skyscrapers and being a musician, but it does come full circle in my music.

The band

Inspired by contemporary jazz, modern, and classical music, I started the Redbourg Group in 2016. Two years later, we launched our first EP, titled Traelanipan. Its name comes from the colossal coastal cliff located in the Faroe Islands, a place that I not only had the privilege to highline at but drew a lot of inspiration from.

It was while writing Traelanipan that I became aware of the connection between my two passions: music and highlining.

The project

With these passions and your support, I would like to create an album that is a musical expression of my experiences as a highliner promising to lift you up and let you experience the freedom that is felt while highlining.

Every composition on the album will be based on specific highlining experiences. To help convey this, each track in the album's booklet will be accompanied by photos, a background story about the composition and context on the natural environment it draws inspiration from.

What am I asking for?

I would like your support for recording the album at the Exalto Studios in Haarlem, producing by Marzio Scholten, mixing and mastering and finally the printing of the album. All this of course, will not be possible without your help.

Of course, as a thank you for your contribution, you will receive something connected to the production of this new album in return. Depending on contribution you can choose to receive the album, be part of a special contributor’s concert, and more!
