UnderWater
Have you ever experienced a story, which is louder than any sound? A story, which takes silence to a new place? A story, which will let you explore the safety of the womb and the fear of the unknown? A story, which sings a song without music, without lyrics as we know them?
We want to invite you to exactly this experience.

UnderWater
Have you ever experienced a story, which is louder than any sound? A story, which takes silence to a new place? A story, which will let you explore the safety of the womb and the fear of the unknown? A story, which sings a song without music, without lyrics as we know them?
We want to invite you to exactly this experience. We want to open up the space for an interdisciplinary performance. We want to explore a new language, a translation from a painting to our most important language – the body language. Our bodies want to scream louder than our voices, our colors want to sing!

OUR STORY
We will start this story from the very beginning. We will start UnderWater. The source of our life. This story will bring us into the endless world of the unknown. We will experience a world without boarders. We will experience the diversity between us and everyones qualities. We are combining the painting with the dancing, we will fuse (with) them and still we will see those two worlds separately, so we can find new frames, new steps and even more important new questions. The shapes of the painting will influence our movements. Our movements will influence the colors of the painting.
We are a collective out of 8 young artists, who started to questioning the frame, which society gave us. What does it mean to be a dancer? Does it really mean that you can only dance? What is dance? Is singing a sort of dance as well? We realized that we will not find the answers, if we stay in our bubble, the bubble of our department. With this performance we want to ask questions in a new context. We realized that if we start being together, create together, learn from each other, then we will find new questions. Questions, which hopefully lead us to the answers.

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP
Why we need your help is very simple. We are people, who think outside of the box, as we already told you in our paragraph "The team - Who we are". So we were looking for new ways - at the edge of the system - to find financial support. Unfortunately the streets of Amsterdam are too wet, at the moment, to go and perform there and ask for money for it. Then crowdfunding was the only solution left.
Also we do believe, that we are living in a century, in which community plays a different role as we are used to. We want to support each other more, we do believe, that as a group we can make things happen, that no individual could do.
If you also do believe that together we are stronger, then please don't be shy and donate. Help us to make our dreams come true.
Here is a hard-fact-list of what we want to pay with your financial support:
Ponderosa: Artist in Residence in Germany
Location: Bring our dreams to the subculture. Finding our new questions in a new context of art, of expressing.
Salaries: We need your support, not to only make our dreams come true, but also to live from our dreams. Of course an artist can live from air and love. But do we really have to?
Festivals: To spread our word, we would like to travel with this production to different festivals in Europe.
By finding new ways of support, independent ways of support, ways that make us feel like one, we can make it happen.
THANK YOU!

THE TEAM - WHO WE ARE
When you ask all of us what we are, who we are, you will get the clear answer:”I am an artist.” Eventhough we followed and still follow studies, in which we get educated in one single profession, there is so much more in us, where we realize that this is, what we want to try. We are all painting, we are all singing, we are all dancing, we are all creating. We embrace life as our education. We know that not only a schoolsystem can educate us, we know that our surrounding can teach us as well. We know that we can learn from each other. We know that we then might not be seen as “professionals” in this new way of expressing and translating, but we know that we will create all of it with our hearts. And this is what life and art is about. But if we follow the system, that we're brought up in, we see that there are boarders on our way, to fulfil the dream of expressing ourselves with more than “just” our educations.
We are (former) students from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy and the academie voor theater en dans. We are experiencing new ways of exchanging and working together by building bridges between these two fields.
Some of us are used to work in a group, some of us are used to work alone. Having these dynamics in one group brings a lot of new insights and interesting ways of working together.
We get to swim in new waters. Our rehearsals take place in both schools, so we get to know the other worlds and find connections between them

THE LOCATION - WHERE WE WANT TO TELL THE STORY
We want to open up the space and find a way to ask questions about this system. To ask these questions, we have to step out of the usual performance context and create new frames. Frames, in which we can move differently and build up new ways of communication. Frames, in which we not only combine arts and create interdisciplinary projects but also create a safe space for an audience with different backgrounds. We truly believe in the fact that in the nightlife, people have the safe space to be themselves, show another side of themselves. People dance in clubs, they dance to make contact, to release tension, to find new inspirations. People in clubs, are people like us. Maybe we do not need to convince them, maybe they will agree with us and our message right away, but we will make them more aware. We will start finding new questions with them.

PONDEROSA
A big part of our process will take place at the beautiful community Ponderosa in Germany. We will research, get inspired, find new insights, new inputs and open up the space for fresh eyes, open hearts.
A part of this crowdfunding goes to our Artist in Residence at Ponderosa. We would like to ask you to support us financially going to this beautiful place in Stolzenhagen (Germany) to find the new questions.
You can find more informations about the program and what we will be doing there here:
