It takes a great investment to create a work of art. It takes time, it takes energy energy, it takes passion and of course it takes money! As young creators we have almost everything we need, we have the time, the energy and the passion to create. However, for that last vital element we need your help!

For our new production Internal Jogging we are seeking support of the public to help us to fund the creation process.

Who Are We?

KNOT Kollektiv are an award winning group of international artists from the worlds of dance, circus and music collaborating to bring life to our hopes and dreams about the future of art. Since 2015 we have been working together to create performances which despite varying themes and casts aim to remain audience-centric.

Ali Clarke - Ali is a contemporary dance artist born and raised in Ireland, currently living and working in the Netherlands. Her passion for physical creativity and active audiences led her to create the collective in 2015.

Crispin Bade - Crispin is a German circus artist who co-founded KNOT in 2015 and has been an integral part of the creation processes since.

Sophia Herzog - Sophia is a German born dancer and dance teacher with a curious mind and a driven heart. She joined KNOT in 2017 and has performed in 'It Did not Start With Us' and 'Neither Did We'

Michael Byrne - Michael is an Irish musician who has previously written music for KNOT, this will be his first year physically joining the company for live performances.

Internal Jogging

Internal Jogging is a new creation currently in the research and pre-production phase. It will premiere in March 2019 at the Cafe Theater Festival, Utrecht.

Following on from our previous research into audience participation through physical creativity we are setting our sights on the concept of community within our audience. What does it mean to be a community in today's world? What can community mean to us personally and how can it help us to grow? And most importantly, how can we create a community within the confines of a half hour performance?

We take our research to the next level in Internal Jogging by handing even more control to the audience and offering them the chance to truly change the performance. Through teamwork and communication the audience will have the possibility to control the direction, and even the outcome of the performance. The question is will they dare to take control? Will they have the ability to quickly formulate a common goal and make group decisions? Will they win?
