‘Woman - the making of...’ is een unieke samensmelting van kunstvormen, door hedendaagse makers en vertolkers, op het tijdloze thema van 'de vrouw' vanuit een modern perspectief!!
Sopraan Lilian Farahani en pianist Maurice Lammerts van Bueren willen een CD opnemen in special edition met een uitgebreid CD-boekje dat onderdeel wordt van een auditieve en visuele totaalbeleving. Dit doen ze met de werken 'Eve-Song' en'At the Statue of Venus’ van de Amerikaanse, hedendaagse componist Jake Heggie (1961).
Het geheel moet worden uitgegeven bij het label 'Zefir Records'.
Om het project te realiseren is deze crowdfunding gestart!! Uw donatie helpt de totale tot standkoming van deze CD! Dit zijn opnamekosten (studio, technicus), zaalhuur, vleugel, pianostemmer, copyright voor hedendaagse composities en het drukken van het boekje met foto's en de CD zelf. Helpt u mee?
Wie zijn wij?
Lilian Farahani (1990) is een Iraans-Nederlandse sopraan, geboren en getogen in Den Haag en opgeleid aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium van Den Haag en het Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
Zij is werkzaam als operazangeres in zowel binnen- als buitenland.
Maurice Lammerts van Bueren is pianist, coach aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium en gespecialiseerd in liedbegeleiding. Hij is een veelgevraagd pianist voor veel Nederlandse zangers. Sinds een aantal jaar is Maurice ook werkzaam als fotograaf.
De samenwerking tussen Lilian en Maurice als muzikaal duo ontstond tijdens Lilian’s studententijd aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium.
Een muzikale match op eerste gehoor!
Wat willen wij maken?
Wij willen graag een CD maken met bijbehorende fotoserie!
Componist Jake Heggie heeft inmiddels vooral in de Verenigde Staten, maar zo langzamerhand ook in Europa, enorm furore gemaakt. Ondanks zijn populariteit zijn er echter nog niet veel opnames van zijn werk. Vijf jaar geleden hebben Maurice en Lilian de Nederlandse première van 'Eve-Song' gebracht op Festival Classique. Het publiek was direct van mening dat dit een opname waard was. Dit is het vat in gegaan, maar niet verzuurd...
Wat dit project uniek maakt is het idee om het verhaal van ‘Eve-Song’ en’At the Statue of Venus’ niet alleen auditief, maar ook visueel te vertolken. Deze beide werken hebben een vrouw als hoofdpersonage. Het geheel vormt een vertelling van de wording tot vrouw, vanuit het perspectief van Eva in het Paradijs (Eve-Song) tot Rose (At the Statue of Venus), die een vrouw is van de moderne tijd.
Het geheel zal de titel krijgen: ‘Woman – the making of...’.
Hoe kunt u ons steunen?
Houdt u van piano en zang? Bent u een voorstander van het uitvoeren van hedendaagse werken die toegankelijk zijn voor een groot publiek?Heeft u een interesse voor fotografie? Vindt u het leuk om musici te steunen en betrokken te zijn bij de creatie van een nieuw project? Steun ons!!
Als u ons in dit stadium van het proces al wilt steunen door middel van een donatie, zullen wij u op de hoogte houden van de vorderingen, leuke weetjes verschaffen, de overwinningen en de blunders met u delen en natuurlijk kunt u ook tegenprestaties verwachten. U kunt één van de eerste personen zijn die de CD + boekje met fotoserie ontvangt (gesigneerd indien gewenst!). Ook zijn er nog veel extra’s te krijgen zoals vrijkaarten voor het presentatieconcert in Amsterdam in juni 2019, een fotocollage vaneen aantal foto’s van de serie, een coaching voor zangers en/of liedbegeleiders en meer!
Natuurlijk bent u ook vrij te steunen zonder bovengenoemde tegen prestaties te willen ontvangen.

‘Woman - the making of...’ is a unique fusion of art forms, made by contemporary creators and performers, on the timeless theme of ‘the woman’ from a modern perspective.
Soprano Lilian Farahani and pianist Maurice Lammerts van Bueren will combine their love for the music of American composer Jake Heggie (1961), with their passion for photography. They want to interpret Heggies compositions ‘Eve-Song’ and ‘At the Statue of Venus’ in both an auditory and visual way, by making a CD with a corresponding photobooklet.
The cd will be released on the label 'Zefir Records'.
In order to realize this project, this crowdfunding has been started! Your donation will help the entire making of this CD. This means: recording costs, room rental, piano rental, piano tuner, copyright for contemporary repertoire and the pressing of the CD and booklet itself. Will you help?
Who are we?
Lilian Farahani is a Dutch-Iranian soprano who is born and raised in the The Hague, the Netherlands and who studied at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague and the Conservatory of Amsterdam.
She is working as an opera singer both in The Netherlands and abroad.
Maurice Lammerts van Bueren is a pianist, coach at the Royal Conservatoire and is specialised as an accompanist of Lieder. He is a renowned accompanist who is often asked by many Dutch singers.
Since a couple of years, Maurice is also working as a photographer.
What do we want to create?
We would like to make a CD with corresponding photo series!
The composer Jake Heggie has already become very popular in the United States, and is also starting to be a hit in Europe. Even though he is very popular, there are not so many recordingsof these works of his yet. Five years ago, Maurice and Lilian performed the Dutch première of Heggies cycle ‘Eve-Song’ on the music festival ‘Festival Classique’. The public immediately suggested making a recording of this music. This idea was postponed, but not forgotten…
What makes this project unique, is the idea to tell the story of ‘Eve-Song’ and ‘At the Statue ofVenus’ not only in an auditory way, but also in a visual one.
In consultation with the composer, the duo picked two cycles in which the woman plays a central figure. These two works together tell the story of the making of a woman from Eve’s point of perspective in Paradise (Eve-Song), to Rose’s (At the Statue ofVenus), who is a woman of today.
The whole will get the title: ‘Woman – the making of…’
