'6,8 Κ Οhm' op tournee

Dit is het verhaal van twee artiesten die elkaar hebben gevonden in hun creatieve ideeën, en in hoe deze ideeën tot uiting kunnen komen. We zouden graag iets abstracts en conceptueels naar een breder publiek brengen. Ons project is gericht op communicatie door middel van performance, en heeft het potentieel om ons te bevrijden van de bekende wegen om tot nieuwe inzichten te komen.

Via audiovisuele improvisatie experimenteren we met zowel geluiden als materialen en hoe deze onze perceptie veranderen. In een verkenning van het zien en luisteren door de vervreemding van onze zintuigen, nodigen we iedereen die geïnteresseerd is uit om live-acts op een nieuwe manier te ervaren.

Al het bovenstaande neemt vorm in het 6.8KOhm project, dat op 22 augustus in première gaat in het fantastische Cafe de Ruimte. Daarna plannen we een tournee in september en oktober van Athene naar Kreta (GR) en terug naar Nederland.

Om ons project te laten groeien, hebben grote doelen voor ogen: - optredens in het buitenland,
- workshops,
- samenwerkingen met andere artiesten en
- de productie van de kunstwerken.
Om dit mogelijk te maken zijn we begonnen met deze crowdfunding-campagne.

De verzamelde donaties helpen ons om productiekosten te dekken, zoals de materialen die nodig zijn voor de uitvoeringen, geluidsapparatuur, de huur voor de ruimtes, promotiemateriaal en transportkosten. Met uw bijdrage kunnen we onze uitvoeringen en workshops ook voor alle doelgroepentoegankelijk houden.

'6,8 KOhm' is een multi-sensoriële performance.
We hebben het project vernoemd naar een deel van de synthesizer die werd gebruikt om geluid te produceren tijdens de uitvoering. Door simpelweg aanwezig te zijn, kan het publiek getuige zijn van het creatieproces en onderdeel worden van de omgeving waar de kunstenaars uit putten.

Wie zijn wij:
Dimitra Kousteridou (GR) werkt aan site-specifieke projecten en geluids improvisatie, onderzoekt tijdgerelateerde installaties en relationele werken waarbij verschillende gemeenschappen betrokken zijn. De kern van haar interesse ligt in het deconstrueren van de visuele identiteit van onderwerpen/objecten en ze een nieuw akoestisch karakter te geven. Dit heeft meestal een interdisciplinair karakter, met kortstondige gebeurtenissen, interactieve handgemaakte synthesizers of fragmenten van objecten, waarbij geluid een centraal element is.

Miriam den Boer – Salmon (NL/MX) is een violiste en improvisator uit Amsterdam. Haar multiculturele achtergrond weerspiegelt in een liefde voor diversiteit, voor steeds veranderende perspectieven op de maatschappij en de realiteit, wat blijkt uit haar muzikale ondernemingen. Met improvisatie als kern, maakt ze momenteel deel uit van verschillende projecten, variërend van folklore tot jazz en vrije improvisatie tot experimentele en cross-art projecten.

Toen Dimitra haar ‘sounding canvas’ ontwikkelde, materialen gebruikte zoals grafiet die elektriciteit konden geleiden en op die manier versterkt konden worden, vonden we dit allebei de perfecte gelegenheid om de handen ineen te slaan.

Veel dingen zijn opwindend aan onze samenwerking: het project, maar ook onze uiteenlopende educatieve en culturele achtergronden. Het Doel
We willen ons project in de ruimste context benaderen, een communicatieve benadering in kunsten voorstellen en contact maken met mensen - zowel publiek als kunstenaars - uit verschillende culturele en artistieke achtergronden. We hebben de gereedschappen ontwikkeld voor een performance die beweging en muziek combineert met improvisatie. "6,8 ΚΟhm" on Tour

This is the story of two artists who found each other in their creative ideas, as well as in their ideas about how creativity can be expressed. We would like to bring something conceptual and abstracted back to a broader audience. Our project aims at communicating through performance, and in doing so has the potential to free us from what we think of as given.

Through audiovisual improvisation, we are experimenting with both sounds and materials and how each alters our perception (by creating simultaneously soundscapes and artworks). In an exploration of seeing and listening through the alienation of our senses, we invite anyone interested to experience live acts in a new way.

All of the above is materialized in the 6.8KOhm performance, which will premiere on the 22nd of Augustat the fantastic Cafe de Ruimte. Space is indeed the place where new things come to exist! After that, we are planning a tour this September and October from Athens to Crete (GR) and back to the Netherlands.

For our project to grow we have many goals in mind:
- performances abroad,
- workshops,
- collaborations and
- the production of the artworks.

‘6,8 K Ohm’ is a multi-sensory performance.
The project takes its name from a part of the synthesizer that is used to produce sound during the performance. The 6.8 KOhm produces a low noise through a metal oxide film, which can then be modified by the materials and drawings Dimitra uses on her canvas. These materials are graphite based; graphite is a form of carbon with the ability to leave marks on paper, hence its name, which means to write or draw.

During the performance, the drawing on paper is creating a movement while leaving traces, allowing the electricity to flow through the paper and translating it into sound. While sketching, qualities are shifting according to how the body interacts to what it hears, coming from the materials and Miriams' instrumental sounds.

The audience can now experience the simultaneous creation of soundscapes and artworks. Electronic sounds from a drawing and a picture directed by a violinist twist of the bow. An unexpected combination of analogue electronics and acoustic instruments, of visual and auditive stimuli, of Greek and Dutch and Mexican influence. By simply being present, the audience can witness the process of creation and become part of the environment the artists interact with.

About us
Dimitra Kousteridou (GR) works on site-specific projects and noise
improvisation, researching time-based acts as well as installations and relational works involving diverse communities. The core of her interest lies in deconstructing the visual identity of subjects /objects and infusing them with new acoustic character. This often leads in an interdisciplinary format including ephemeral events, interactive handmade synthesizers or fragments of objects, enacting sound as a central element.

Miriam den Boer – Salmon (NL/MX) is a violinist and improviser based in Amsterdam. Her multicultural background reflects in a love for diversity, for ever-changing perspectives on society and reality which shows in her musical ventures. With improvisation at its core, she currently forms part of different projects, ranging from folklore to jazz and free improvisation to experimental and cross-art projects.

When Dimitra developed her sounding canvas, using materials which can conduct electricity like graphite, and therefore be amplified, both of us found this the perfect opportunity to start working together.

Many things are exciting about our collaboration: the project, but also our very diverse educational and cultural backgrounds. Where Dimitra is working from a conceptual point of view regarding her fine arts approach, Miriam takes a more intuitive road being a musically trained improviser.

The Goal
We seek to approach our performance in the broadest context, to suggest a communicative approach in live arts and to connect with people - both audience and artists - from different cultural and artistic backgrounds.We have developed the tools for a performance that combines movement, music and sound improvisation.

The idea of it all is to have people experience something they haven't in this combination - in order for them to reinterpret what they've known so far. For that reason, we aim to present our project in diverse venues, be it to people with no previous knowledge of music and art or makers from different disciplines, to exchange feedback and ideas.

Through this tour, we will be inviting diverse artists to join the performance and workshops, so as to create an international network that would connect makers from different countries.

Μέσω του οπτικοακουστικού αυτοσχεδιασμού, δοκιμάζουμε τόσο τους ήχους και τα υλικά όσο και τον τρόπο με τον οποίο αλλάζει η αντίληψή μας (δημιουργώντας ταυτόχρονα ηχητικά τοπία και έργα τέχνης). Σε μια εξερεύνηση του να βλέπουμε και να ακούμε μέσω της αλλοτρίωσης των αισθήσεών μας, καλούμε οποιονδήποτε να βιώσει ζωντανές παραστάσεις τέχνης από μια καινούργια οπτική.

Όλα τα παραπάνω υλοποιούνται στην παράσταση 6.8K Οhm, η οποία θα γίνει πρεμιέρα στις22 Αυγούστουστο φανταστικό Café de Ruimte. Ένας καταπληκτικός χώρος στο Βόρειο Άμστερνταμ, όπου νέες ιδέες γεννιούνται και καινοτόμες παραστάσεις πραγματοποιούνται! - την παραγωγή των έργων τέχνης.

Πώς λειτουργεί?
Το έργο πήρε το όνομα του από ένα μέρος/εξάρτημα του μηχανισμού που χρησιμοποιήθηκε για την παραγωγή ήχου κατά τη διάρκεια της παράστασης. Το 6.8 KOhm παράγει χαμηλό θόρυβο μέσω μιας μεμβράνης μεταλλικού οξειδίου, μέρος του χειροποίητου κυκλώματος, το οποίο χρησιμοποιεί η Δήμητρα μαζί με αγώγιμα υλικά στον καμβά της. Αυτά τα υλικά είναι βασισμένα σε γραφίτη. Ο γραφίτης είναι μια μορφή άνθρακα με την ικανότητα να αφήνει σημάδια σε χαρτί, εξ ου και το όνομά του, που σημαίνει να γράφεις ή να σχεδιάζεις.

Κατά τη διάρκεια της εκτέλεσης, το σχέδιο στο χαρτί δημιουργεί μια κίνηση αφήνοντας ίχνη τα οποία μετατρέπονται σε ήχο. Κατά τη σκιαγράφηση, οι ιδιότητες μετατοπίζονται ανάλογα με το πώς το σώμα αλληλεπιδρά με αυτό που ακούει, και τους μουσικούς ήχους της Miriam. Το κοινό βιώσει λοιπόν την ταυτόχρονη δημιουργία μουσικών ηχογραφιών και έργων τέχνης.

Η Δήμητρα Κουστερίδου (GR) με έδρα το Αμστερνταμ, δουλεύει κυρίως με site specific έργα και αυτοσχεδιασμούς που επικεντρώνονται στον ήχο. Ο πυρήνας του ενδιαφέροντός της βρίσκεται στην αποδόμηση της οπτικής ταυτότητας των αντικείμενων, εγγύοντάς την με νέο ακουστικό χαρακτήρα, ενισχύοντας έτσι τις φυσικές, ακουστικές και αισθητικές τους ιδιότητες. Αυτό οδηγεί συχνά σε μια διεπιστημονική μορφή, όπως εφήμερα γεγονότα, διαδραστικές χειροποίητες συνθέσεις ή θραύσματα αντικειμένων, που θεσπίζουν τον ήχο ως κεντρικό στοιχείο.Μπορεί κανείς να φανταστεί τις δράσεις της σαν συνθέσεις από τις οποίες προκύπτει ένα δίκτυο από σώματα, αναμνήσεις και εμπειρίες. Η Miriam den Boer - Salmon (NL / MX) είναι βιολίστρια και αυτοσχεδιαστής με έδρα το Άμστερνταμ. Το πολυπολιτισμικό της υπόβαθρο αντικατοπτρίζεται σε μια αγάπη για την ποικιλομορφία, για τις συνεχώς μεταβαλλόμενες προοπτικές, για την κοινωνία και την πραγματικότητα που δείχνει στις μουσικές της δουλειές. Όταν η Dimitra ανέπτυξε τον ηχητικό της καμβά, χρησιμοποιώντας υλικά που μπορούν να χρησιμοποιηθούν με ηλεκτρισμό, συνειδητοποιήσαμε ότι αυτή είναι η ιδανική ευκαιρία να ξεκινήσουμε το δικό μας πρότζεκτ μαζί, το 6,8Κ Οhm.

Πολλά πράγματα ξεκίνησαν από τη συνεργασία μας: το concept, αλλά και η εμπειρία της σύνδεσης του πολύ διαφορετικού εκπαιδευτικού και πολιτιστικού μας υπόβαθρου. Η Dimitra δούλευε από από μία εννοιολογική άποψη προσέγγισης των τέχνων και του ήχου, ενώ η Miriam εξερευνούσε το δρόμο του μουσικά εκπαιδευμένου αυτοσχεδιαστή.

Ο στόχος
Σκοπός μας είναι να επικοινωνήσουμε την τεχνική και τις ιδέες μας σε ένα ευρύτερο κοινό, να συνδεθούμε με ανθρώπους - τόσο ακροατές όσο και καλλιτέχνες - από διαφορετικό πολιτισμικό και καλλιτεχνικό υπόβαθρο, και μαζί να ανακαλύψουμε καινούργιους συνδυασμούς μουσικής, τέχνης και νέους τρόπους αντίληψής τους.

Η ιδέα μας είναι να βιώσουμε μαζί κάτι διαφορετικό, μία παράσταση την οποία το κοινό δεν γνωρίζει σε αυτόν του τον συνδυασμό, με επιθυμία να γίνει μία διαφορετική προσέγγιση σε αυτά τα οποία γνωρίζουμε ήδη. Για το λόγο αυτό, παρουσιάζουμε το έργο μας σε διάφορους/ποικιλόμορφους χώρους, σε ανθρώπους χωρίς απαραίτητη προηγούμενη γνώση της μουσικής και της τέχνης, αλλά και από διαφορετικούς κλάδους, είτε καλλιτέχνες (μουσικούς, ζωγράφους, χορευτές, κ.α.), επιχειρηματίες, εργαζόμενους, ερασιτέχνες, λάτρες των τεχνών, παιδιά, με σκοπό την καρποφόρα ανταλλαγή απόψεων και ιδεών.

Μέσω αυτής της περιοδείας, θα έχουμε την τιμή να προσκαλέσουμε και να συνεργαστούμε με διάφορους καλλιτέχνες, οι οποίοι θα συμμετάσχουν στις επιδόσεις και τα εργαστήρια, με απώτερο σκοπό την δημιουργία ενός διεθνούς δικτύου που θα συνδέσει καλλιτέχνες από διαφορετικές χώρες και πολιτισμούς.

Esta es la historia de dos artistas que se encontraron en sus ideas creativas, así como en sus ideas sobre cómo se puede expresar la creatividad. Nos gustaría traer algo conceptual y abstracto a una audiencia más amplia. Nuestro proyecto tiene como objetivo comunicar a través de la actuación, y al hacerlo tiene el potencial de liberarnos de lo que consideramos como dado.

A través de la improvisación audiovisual, estamos experimentando con sonidos y materiales y cómo cada uno altera nuestra percepción (creando simultáneamente paisajes sonoros y obras de arte). En una exploración del ver y escuchar a través de la alienación de nuestros sentidos, invitamos a cualquier persona interesada a experimentar actos en vivo de una manera nueva.

Todo lo anterior se materializa en la presentación de 6.8KOhm, que se estrenará el 22 de agosto en el fantástico ‘Café de Ruimte’. Después de eso, estamos planeando una gira en septiembre y octubre desde Atenas a Creta (GR) y de regreso a los Países Bajos.

Tenemos muchos objetivos en mente para desarrollar nuestro proyecto: actuaciones en el extranjero, talleres, colaboraciones con otros artistas y la producción de las obras de arte. Para que esto sea posible, hemos comenzado esta campaña de crowdfunding.

'6,8 KOhm' es una actuación multisensorial. ¿Como funciona?

El proyecto toma su nombre de una parte del sintetizador que se utiliza para producir sonido durante la actuación. El 6.8 KOhm produce un ruido de frecuencia baja a través de una película de óxido de metal, que luego puede ser modificada por los materiales y dibujos que Dimitra usa en su lienzo. Estos materiales están basados ​​en grafito; El grafito es una forma de carbono con la capacidad de dejar marcas en el papel, de ahí su nombre, que significa escribir o dibujar.

Durante la ejecución, el dibujo en papel crea un movimiento dejando huellas, permitiendo que la electricidad fluya a través del papel y lo traduzca al sonido. Al dibujar, las cualidades cambian de acuerdo con la forma en que el cuerpo interactúa con lo que oye, guiado y inspirado por los sonidos instrumentales de Miriam.

El público ahora puede experimentar la creación simultánea de paisajes sonoros y obras de arte. Sonidos electrónicos de un dibujo y una imagen dirigida por el arco de la violinista. Una combinación inesperada de electrónica analógica e instrumentos acústicos, de estímulos visuales y auditivos, de influencia griega, holandesa y mexicana. Al estar simplemente presente, el público puede presenciar el proceso de creación y convertirse en parte del entorno con el que interactúan los artistas.

Dimitra Kousteridou (GR) trabaja en proyectos in situ e improvisación, investigando ‘time-based art’, así como instalaciones y trabajos relacionales que involucran a diversas comunidades. El núcleo de su interés radica en deconstruir la identidad visual de los sujetos/objetos y en infundirles un nuevo carácter acústico. Esto a menudo da por resultado piezas interdisciplinarias que incluyen eventos efímeros, sintetizadores interactivos hechos a mano o fragmentos de objetos, representando el sonido como un elemento central.

Miriam den Boer – Salmon (NL / MX) es una violinista e improvisadora con sede en Ámsterdam. Su trasfondo multicultural se refleja en un amor por la diversidad, por las perspectivas siempre cambiantes sobre la sociedad y la realidad que se muestra en sus aventuras musicales. Con un enfoque en la improvisación, actualmente forma parte de diferentes proyectos, que van desde el folclore hasta el jazz y la improvisación libre hasta proyectos experimentales y de arte multidisciplinario.

Cuando Dimitra desarrolló su lienzo sonoro, utilizando materiales que pueden conducir electricidad como el grafito y por lo tanto, pueden ser amplificados, ambas consideramos que esta era la oportunidad perfecta para comenzar algo juntas.

Muchas cosas son fascinantes en nuestra colaboración: el proyecto, pero también la diversidad de nuestros antecedentes educativos y culturales. Donde Dimitra está trabajando desde una perspectiva conceptual con respecto a su enfoque de bellas artes, Miriam toma una ruta más intuitiva siendo una improvisadora con entrenamiento musical.

La meta

Buscamos ubicar nuestra actuación en el contexto más amplio, para sugerir un enfoque comunicativo en las artes en vivo y para conectarnos con personas, tanto al público como otros artistas, de diferentes culturas y antecedentes artísticos. Hemos desarrollado las herramientas para una actuación que combina movimiento, música e improvisación sonora.

La idea de todo esto es que las personas experimenten algo que no han visto en esta combinación, para poder reinterpretar lo que han conocido hasta ahora. Por esa razón, trabajaremos para presentar nuestro proyecto en lugares distintos, ya sea a personas sin conocimientos previos de música y arte o creadores de diferentes disciplinas, para intercambiar feedback e ideas.

A través de esta gira, invitamos a diversos artistas a unirse a la actuación y talleres, a fin de crear una red internacional que conectará a los creadores de diferentes países.
