For those who weren't able to reply my last message. Please sent me an email to: [email protected] with your preference of choice concerning the small photo print. I decided to try to print all 3 options instead of chosing one, which is hopefully making it easier for you to make a decision, since there were a lot of different wishes :)

The printing of the book is almost finished and the printed papers will be delivered at the binding company soon, making an actual book our of the pile of papers. Here is a video made by Ellen from Unicum and some pictures to see the work in progress for thoses interested:

I will post a last update beginning/half september when hopefully everything (book, small print, postcards, other backup orders) is ready and will sent you indivual message from then one.

It has been 1,5 weeks since my crowdfunding project was officially successful with reaching 89% of my target!
I want to thank you again for your loyal support and wanted to let you know that the book went into printing!

My next step is to print the “small surprise print” that will accompany the book. Since I can’t decide for myself alone, I would like to involve you which image you would like to see printed, which you can frame and hang on your wall :)

Soon I will also print the postcard set and other products you ordered, but first we still need to wait for the book, which should be ready end of August, beginning of September!

Yesterday was a magical day, where I was able to reach the absolute minimum of my crowdfunding campaign, 80% on my birthday!
Thank you my dear supporters, you gave me the most amazing birthday present I almost didn’t dare dream of!!
With still a few hours to go, I know that I maybe won't reach 100% today, but 'voordekunst' has a special agreement with projects that reach 80-99%.

You will recieve an email the next days where I will explain to you how I will fill the gap untill 100%. If you continue to support me, the project will be seen as succeeded the next 5 days. Sounds a bit complicated, but the organisation wants you to give you the oppertunity to continue to support me or if you made up your mind to get your money back or even donate more and help me to get more supporters :)

'Voordekunst' gives me in a way, the oppertunity to have 5 extra more days to achieve 100%, but if I stay with at least 80% I have also won the crowdfunding battle! I hope you can follow me here and can wait for the next 5 days for the final result! You will be the first one to hear it!

By the way, next week the book will probably already go into printing, so it can be finished the end of August and reach you in person in the month of september!

With only 3 more days to go, it's getting pretty exciting for me if I am able to reach the minimum of 80 %... NOT giving up on my part here!

Yesterday my graphic designer Amanda recieved the second dummy (prototype of the book) from the printing house with the cover design.
It look pretty amazing! For you graphic designers out there, it's glossed and embossed. Have a look at the picture underneath.

It's the first time I am doing such a crowdfunding campaign and I have learned so much! At the beginning I was actually embarred to 'ask for help' and during the process I learned to be more proud of myself as an artist. To feel actually sort of courageous to put myself out there in the open. We all need support to be able to cross bounderies, we can't reach anything new, if we do everything alone by ourselves. I have made so many new friends and rediscovered old one's during the campaign, so it was all a very very valuable experience!

When I started the series 5 years ago, I felt completely blocked and lost. Daily life overwhelmed me for many reasons. Since I have been a photographer for more then 10 years, I knew that working intuitively, staying true to myself and the work I produce from there, will be authentic and is something of value.

I am a very social and sensitive person, someone who cares for the world and who is worried about the direction the world is heading for the last years. This project was my way of dealing with how the outward world was stressing me and how I was getting stressed from all the expectations I created by myself for myself. Something a lot of people struggle with since the rise of internet and social media.

It may seem as a very personal and even private project, but I believe that by opening up something that is confronting within your own life and makes you suffer as a human being, also helps others to move forward.

Allthough you are maybe not a mother or even a parent, I believe that my work has the strenght to communicate on a universal level.
It communicates emotions everybody can experience when we are struggeling in life, but in the end I do focus on the aspect of ‚turning poison into medicine’.

I believe the world needs more light and we can find light in all situations we find ourselves in at the moment. Our open and authentic struggle is important to make the world brighter and lighter. Thank you for believing in me and in yourselves!

By the way I reached 60%, so only 20% left to have the minimum of 80%!

The printing office Unicum has started working on the book already in a way that the lithographer corrected the images for the printing paper that will be used for the book and they tested the images on the press as well.
I am so excited to see the test print in real life!

I am just the luckiest person!!!

First since I have all of YOU who have already supported me to be able to make my dream of my first publication a reality! A BIG THANK YOU AGAIN!

And second that the team of 'voordekunst' has decided to extend my crowdfunding campaign due to the summer season! (komkommertijd in Dutch)

I reached 57% this weekend, which practically means that I 'only' need 41 more people to order the book for €45 and I can start the production of the book, since 80% is the minimum for 'voordekunst' to make it all happen!

'Why do you need so much money?', somebody asked me.
Well, offset bookprinting with a lot of extraordinary paperfolding is unfortunately very expensive since the digital era is ruling the world and I have to pay the graphic designer and the crowdfunding platform as well. I am not making any money at all, but it's worth for me all the way, since I think my art should be out there touching peoples lives and inspire them to live true to themselves as well.

Please ask your best friend, mother, sister, neighbour, collegue, boss etc. if they are willling to support me or buy them a nice gift already for Christmas :)

Just 41 people and then I will give a big party in Berlin where you are all already invited for!

Quite exciting also is that soon a first test of the images on the press will be done with a good old-fashioned 'offset' press!
