Mijn naam is Twan Peeters, en ik ben een 26-jarige Cinematograaf uit Nijmegen. De afgelopen jaren heb ik met veel plezier een filmportfolio opgebouwd, waarmee ik afgelopen zomer ben toegelaten op de National Film & Television School in Londen. Omdat ik voor mijn eerste jaar mijn collegegeld nog niet volledig rond heb, ben ik een crowdfunding gestart, en daarbij heb ik jouw hulp nodig!

Wat ga ik doen?

Studeren op de NFTS in Londen is een kans waar ik alleen maar op had kunnen hopen. De komende twee jaar krijg ik masterclasses van ervaren regisseurs en cinematografen van over de wereld, zoals bijvoorbeeld David Yates (Harry Potter), Christopher Nolan (Interstellar, Inception) en Alfonso Cuaron (Gravity).

Mijn klas beslaat uit slechts 8 mensen, en ik krijg twee jaar lang de tijd om mijzelf te ontwikkelen en te experimenten met het maken van heel veel films. Mijn afstudeerfilm wordt uiteindelijk ingestuurd naar de de Britse BAFTA’s en Amerikaanse Oscars om voor een groter publiek getoond te worden.

Waarom moet dit project worden gerealiseerd?

Ik zou uiteindelijk graag films willen maken die mensen aan sporen eens echt te gaan leven. Films die je aan zetten tot denken, die je inspireren om een verbeterde versie van jezelf en de wereld om ons heen te creëren. Zelf mediteer ik twee keer per dag, en ben ik veel bezig met mijn eigen zelfontwikkeling. Ik ben van mening dat we de grootste problemen in de wereld oplossen door ons zelf verder te ontwikkelen en op zoek te gaan naar ons eigen geluk. Daarbij hoort leren echt naar elkaar te luisteren, en elkaar – maar vooral jezelf – te accepteren. Ik zie met film een grote potentie om grote groepen mensen te raken en te inspireren, en te laten zien dat alles mogelijk is als je je eigen passie achterna gaat, wat dat ook is.

Wat heb ik hiervoor nodig?

Studeren aan de NFTS kost €15.500,00 per jaar, en wonen in Londen kost nog eens zo’n €20.000,00 per jaar. Ondanks dat ik op alle mogelijke manieren (lenen, fondsen) geld bij elkaar aan het schrapen ben, kom ik nog steeds €4.000,00 euro te kort. Dit hoop ik via deze crowdfunding bij elkaar te sparen, zodat ik mijn eerste jaar af kan maken.

Wat krijg je er voor terug?

Ik kan mij geen betere manier bedenken om mijn dankbaarheid te tonen dan een persoonlijke piano-improvisatie voor je te maken. Piano is een van mijn passies, en ik ben er dan ook iedere dag mee bezig om mijn gevoel te uiten in muziek. Kijk bij de tegenprestaties voor een volledig overzicht van alles wat ik bedacht heb.

My name is Twan Peeters, I am a 26-year old Cinematographer from Nijmegen, The Netherlands. In the past 4 years I have worked as a freelance filmmaker to build a film portfolio, which got me into the National Film & Television School in London this summer. I started a crowdfunding, because I do not have the capacity to fully pay my tuition fees. That's why I need your help!

What will I do?

Studying at the NFTS in London is a chance I could only dream of. For the coming two years, I will learn through practice and masterclasses from great filmmakers from all over the world, such as David Yates (Harry Potter), Christopher Nolan (Interstellar, Inception) and Alfonso Cuaron (Gravity), amongst others.

I will get two years worth of time experimenting with creating many films and developing my creative and personal skills, in a very small group of only 8 people. My graduation film will ultimately be send to the British BAFTA's and American Oscars to be viewed by a bigger audience.

Why should this project be realised?

Ultimately I want to work on films that encourage individuals to really start living their life. Films that make you think and inspire you to create a better version of yourself and the world around you. I meditate two times a day, and I am very motivated to improve myself as a person everyday. I believe that the biggest problems in this world will resolve themselves once we will focus on developing ourselves, by finding our own sources of happiness. By listening to and accepting each other, but mostly ourselves, we can create a beautiful world without conflicts that come from fear and pain. I see great potential in film to inspire many people and show them everyone can live great lives.

What will I need to archieve this?

Studying at the NFTS costs €15.500,00 per year, and living in London costs around €20.000,00 per year. Even though I am trying to gather money through all possible ways (loans, scholarships), I am still missing €4.000,00 that I hope to gather with this crowdfunding so I can finish my first year.

What will you get back?

I can't think of a better way to show my gratitude than to compose a personal piano-improvisation for you. I play the piano every day so I can express my feelings, it is one of my biggest passions. Also take a look at the other rewards I can offer you.
