IKS is finally ready to dive into the studio and record their very first EP! To be able to do that we need your help. With this campaign we are funding the recordings, the mixing- and masteringprocess, printing of the CD and beautiful artwork on the cover! Introducing IKS

Hi! We are IKS! A pop/soul band from Amsterdam. The band consists out of three singers, guitar and bass guitar and we are all jazz musicians who met at the conservatory of Amsterdam. Together we play our own compositions, where we to combine our jazz-roots with our love for pop and R&B. This you can also hear in our arrangements of well-known songs that get a distinctive IKS-twist. Without the expected drum set, we create an intimate atmosphere as well as gospel like explosions whenever the music needs it.

Our debut EP

We started out in November 2015 with a cover of D'Angelo's Higher and have been creating music together since. We've been playing in the Netherlands and Belgium, and went on tour in Estonia! It's now 2017 and we are dying to record our music to make an EP for our listeners and to document the fun we had for the past two years!
To realise this project we need your help!
We are recording six songs, four originals and two covers. It's going to be professionally recorded, mixed and mastered. After that we want to print the music with beautiful artwork on the cover and make it available to stream on Itunes, Spotify, ... To be able to fund all of this we started this campagne.

Hoi, wij zijn IKS! Een soulvolle pop band bestaande uit vijf jonge jazzmuzikanten die elkaar hebben ontmoet tijdens hun studie aan het Amsterdamse conservatorium. Door de bijzondere combinatie van drie stemmen, bas en gitaar creëren we een eigen warme sound. Samen spelen we arrangementen van onze favoriete nummers maar ook eigen werk waarin we onze jazz-roots combineren met de liefde voor pop en R&B.Hoewel de band is gevestigd in Nederland,komen de bandleden vanuit heel Europa.

IKS bestaat uit drie zangeressen: Bahghi Yemane (NL), Isla Van Hout (BE) en Sarah Zeleznik (SLO). Mikael Asmundsson (IJS) op gitaar en basgitarist Robert Rebane (EST).
In 2016 brachten we een serie van live-video’s uit die onderdeel waren van een huiskamer sessie, waren te gast bij het radioprogramma CoLive! op NPO Soul&Jazz, speelden we concerten in Nederland en België en gingen we op tour in Estland.

Nu is het tijd om dit alles vast te leggen. Na twee jaar willen we graag onze muziek opnemen, mixen en masteren en het geheel in een mooi jasje stoppen. Maar daar hebben we uw hulp bij nodig! We zijn deze campagne gestart om alles te kunnen bekostigen en zo professioneel mogelijk aan te pakken.

Hoe u kunt helpen? U kunt doneren door op de groene knop rechtsboven of de blauwe knop beneden te klikken. Alle kleine en grote beetjes zullen ons helpen om het einddoel te bereiken: Een prachtige, soulvolle EP! Natuurlijk krijgt u daar iets voor terug. Rechts kan u alle tegenprestaties vinden.
