Dear All,

I’m a vocalist who writes and performs her own music, and teaches jazz singing at the conservatoire of The Hague. In 2016, I created the project “Slightly Odd” (the concept, the music, the lyrics, and the design), followed by the research concerning the subject of rhythm, free phrasing, and methods of learning the ‘jazz feel’. Something of the ‘crazy rhythms made easy’ concept.

The music on this upcoming album is like a game I play with words and rhythm. It’s inspired by vocal techniques and grooves from all over the world, with lots of space for jazz improvisation, and easy melodies weaved into it. The international line-up adds a lot to the character of the music: Rembrandt Frerichs (NL) piano, Vasilis Stefanopoulos (GR) bass, and Pepe Garcia (MX) percussion instruments.

In this campaign, I am raising money for the recording of the 7 songs of the ‘Slightly Odd’ album. That includes two days in the studio, mastering, sound engineer and musician’s fees.
