This graduation project is about the emotional and mental effects of bullying among youth. With a satirical, but also serious approach, my aim is to help youth realise how important it is to express feelings and emotions. With this I want to lower the threshold around the taboo of feeling ashamed admitting what bullying does to you.

Who am I?
Hi, I’m Giannella.
An Ecuadorian-born, Netherlands-based conceptual & visual thinker. In my work, social issues often play a major role. Observing my surroundings carefully and pinning and explaining the blind spots of our modern society in my communication and visual translations is what drives me.
Though I’m focused on conceptual thinking, strategy and art direction, I keep my creative interests wide, striving to become good at as many things as time allows.
Currently, I’m finalizing my bachelor in Advertising at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, while also practicing what I preach as a part-time freelancer.
3❤lovely things:
• Work also at LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics.
• Animal lover
• Travel addict

Why crowdfunding?
A considerable share of the production costs will be paid by me. But unfortunately, I cannot cover all the expenses at the moment. Therefore, for the filmmaking and printing costs, I really need your support!
With your help, I would not only complete my graduation project but also, I will create a socially relevant campaign for a nearly forgotten target group.
The project
Anxieties among young people because of bullying is a social issue that has urged our society for many years now. It is striking how often these concerns are driven by their own negative thoughts. When feelings and emotions get suppress too long, complaints may arise, such as gloominess, irritation or even anger. Expressing feelings and emotions is an exhaust valve to lose these tensions. But unfortunately, young people think differently about it.
For my graduation project, I specifically considered those annoying events and the negative consequences that accompany them. With the "How to Become a Bully" fictional show, I want to let youngsters break the silence around the taboo of feeling ashamed admitting what bullying does to them. I would like to do this by confronting my target group with humorous and absurd situations where it is made easier to cross over the moral boundaries and change into what you do not wish to be.

Target audience
Teenagers between the 12 and 16 years old.

Concept & Development

Points of Proof:
Identity
Star Wars has been around for a long time and is so popular that even people who are not familiar with the actual plot of the story recognize its characters. This is because the franchise makes use of strong and well-known archetypes.
Casting
Each character has individual attributes that reflect the personalities of the victim, bully and onlooker.
PR
As the 8th Star Wars film is expected in December this year, this will create a lot of interest and curiosity among the target group.
Relevance
Besides the popularity and familiarity of the films there is another aspect of the Star Wars franchise that is of interest. The Star Wars fictional universe revolves around the battle between good and evil, which is the perfect metaphor for the mentioned vicious cycle of bullying.
Attention (the first 5 sec)
Part 1: Star Wars original opening crawl text.
Part 2: Princess Leia’s evil self.
Part 3: Chaos.
Online exposure (YouTube)
Great opportunity to start a dialogue on line. Why this show? How does bullying affect you? How can you help stop bullying?
