Tijdens mijn afstudeerproject raakte ik gefascineerd door de verbinding tussen architectuur en beeldende kunst die een nieuwe wending krijgt door technologische ontwikkelingen. Ik bedacht een nieuwe manier van bouwen geïnspireerd op 3D printen maar dan analoog. Je zou dan als architect, kunstenaar of danser in 3D kunnen schilderen. En zo terwijl je ontwerpt kunnen bouwen.

Ik studeerde een jaar geleden af in Architectuur. Tijdens mijn afstudeerproject raakte ik gefascineerd door de verbinding tussen architectuur en beeldende kunst die een nieuwe wending krijgt door technologische ontwikkelingen. Ik bedacht een nieuwe manier van bouwen geïnspireerd op 3D printen maar dan analoog. Je zou dan als architect, kunstenaar of danser in 3D kunnen schilderen. En zo terwijl je ontwerpt kunnen bouwen.
Plastic als verf
Ik werkte daarna verder om dit idee om te zetten in de praktijk door onderzoek te doen naar de bewerking van plastic als bouwmateriaal. Door plastic te zien als verf wordt de bouwmethode een soort 3D action painting. Je laat het materiaal zijn gang gaan, alleen de beweging van je hand, arm of lichaam geeft de richting, daarna neemt zwaartekracht het over. Stel je voor dat een kolom kan ontstaan doordat een druppel onderweg stolt.
Gerecycled plastic, bio plastic en pigmenten als palet
Het plastic dat ik gebruik is gerecycled of bio plastic. Ik werk met pigmenten en vezels om tot kleurrijke vormen en nieuwe materiaaleigenschappen te komen.
Het 'lichaamsschrift'
In maart zal ik 2 maanden een artist-in-residence in Kunsthuis SYB, Beetsterzwaag, Friesland doen. Daar zal ik met de machine werken en samen met schilders, beeldhouwers, architecten en dansers onderzoeken wat de bewegingen van ieders lichaam, arm of hand voor invloed hebben op het werk. Ik noem dit het ‘lichaamsschrift’.
Hoe zal een schilder die in twee dimensies werkt zijn voorstellingen vertalen in een ruimtelijke beweging? En wat creëert de danser, die juist zo getraind is op de bewegingstechniek van het lichaam?
Machine
Het geld dat ik met deze campagne ophaal gebruik ik voor de ontwikkeling van de machine die het mogelijk maakt om intuïtief vorm te geven aan onze gebouwde omgeving.
Samenwerking
Om de techniek te ontwikkelen werk ik samen met de TU Delft, de Better Future Factory en DiederenDirrix architectuur & stedenbouw.
Toekomst
In de toekomst zal ik verder gaan met materiaal onderzoek om een geschikt materiaal te ontwikkelen voor deze bouwwijze.

I am Tiwanee,
A year ago I graduated in Architecture. During my graduation I became fascinated by the connection with architecture and the visual arts going through a transformation through technological developments. I thought of a new way of building inspired by 3D printing, but in this case analog. Then architects, artists or dancers could paint in 3D. And in that way they can design and build at the same time.
Plastic as paint
After that, I continued to work on putting this idea into practice by doing research on the application of plastic as a building material By seeing plastic as paint, the building method becomes a kind of 3D action painting. You let the material go its course, only the movement of your hand, arm and body give direction then, gravity takes over. Imagine a column coming in to being because a drop of plastic solidifies during its fall.
Recycled plastic, bio plastic and pigments as palette
The plastic that I use is recycled or bio plastic. I work with pigments and fibers to come to colourful forms and new material properties.
The ‘body sign’
In march I will be doing an artist-in-residence for 2 months in Kunsthuis SYB, Beetsterzwaag, Friesland. There I will work with the machine, together with painters, sculptors, architects and dancers to research the impact of the movements of their body, arm and hands. I call this the ‘body sign’.
How will a painter who usually works in two dimensions translate his imaginations in a spatial movement? And what does the dancer create, who is so trained in the movement technique of the body?
Machine
The money that I will raise with this campaign will be used for the development of the machine will enable us to shape our built environment intuitively.
Collaboration
To develop the technique I work together with the TU Delft, the Better Future Factory and DiederenDirrix architecture & urbanism.
Future
In the future I will continue to do material research to find a suitable material for this building technique.
