On April 1st 2014 I did the first recording session of S.O.S Bras Beat.
Exactly two years later, I hope to complete this campaign successfully and be able to finish the CD that represents my life as a foreigner musician in The Netherlands.
In the tiny room at the backyard of my house in Tilburg, where I moved in 2012 from Sao Paulo – Brasil, I had a long and creative musical process exploring my inventive percussion instruments such as the “Metallic Melodical Cowbells and Pans” , where I made lots of melodies for the CD.
My musical upbringing in Sao Paulo brought me influences from pop to traditional music, jazz, rock, world music and balkan beats. As a drummer and percussionist, my compositions are based on rhythms that I blended as a result of my experiences abroad contrasted with my brazilian roots.
To join the rhythmic session I thought about blow instruments to expand my melodical ideas and bring harmonies. For that I invited great players to add new colors with trombone, trumpet, clarinet, euphonio, flutes, sax and accordeon.
The name Bras Beat comes from Brass instruments, and S.O.S from my name, SimOneSou and Sounds of Soul, as a message to everyone.
Traveling as a musician all over the world for 25 years, I learnt how important it is for an artist to tell your own story, your own impressions of the world. That is what I am doing: sharing my expressions through music!
Since I started to compose music, S.O.S Bras Beat has been a continuous work in progress. At the moment I reach my target I will immediately run to print the CDs, because I am in a “Non Stop Mode”! I want the CD to be ready by June 2016! And be able to do concerts to promote it...
It is ready to be listened... all recorded/mixed in Tilburg and mastered in Sao Paulo! Pictures for the design of the CD are done, the content material is ready. Now I need your support to be able to do the layout, the prints and to pay the costs of this last part of the process to make it a real CD!!! It will be possible only with your help...
