Our First Album

Pierre & les Optimistes is finally going to record an album! Help us realize this musical project so you can listen to us everywhere you want!

Our project in a few words

After many years of playing our songs on many different stages in the Netherlands, in France and in Belgium we are finally set on recording.
However making an album is very expensive and living for music is fantastic but its not always very lucrative. The studio hours are expensive, so is the mixing and the mastering of the tracks.Then cd's need to be printed, artwork has to made for the case, and we want to be able to pay a fee to a few featuring artists who are not part of the band.
We are writing all new songs for this album and we are planning to make them swing like we never swung before!

The Band- It's Gypsy Stuff

We call the music we play Gypsy Stuff! The base comes from 30's jazz from Django Reinhardt. But we don't limit ourselves there and we play bossa's, rumba's, french chançons, its a great gypsy mix!
The band is built around singer and rythm guitarist Pierre Laernoes. The rythm section is completed with Myrthe van de Weetering on the double bass. Bart Kropff on the tenor sax and Tim Kerssies on the accordeon delight us with their amazing solo's. Together we are Pierre & les Optimistes. We love improvisation and is therefore a big part of out style. So we often invite musicians to come play with us.
