What is the Context? En wie zijn wij?

In het weekend van 21- 24 januari zullen wij, een groep van 15 studenten Graphic Design aan ArtEZ Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Arnhem een eindexamenexpositie houden in het VM23 gebouw te Arnhem. De expositie, What Is The Context? is voor ons dé mogelijkheid om onze (onderzoeks)projecten te kunnen delen met alle geïnteresseerden.

De eindexamenprojecten geven een uitgebreid beeld van de ontwerper en zijn of haar opvattingen op verschillende onderwerpen, van sociaal-geëngageerde tot speculatieve projecten. De onderwerpen omvatten vele contemporaine discussies zoals gender-roles en de invloed van het digitale tijdperk. Dit wordt gecombineerd met hands-on research zoals bijvoorbeeld het ontwerpen van een machine die lettertypes ontwerpt.

De expositie geeft ruimte om deze verschillende projecten een podium te bieden en interactie met elkaar en de bezoeker aan te gaan. We hebben al een fantastische locatie en we zijn drukbezig met het ontwerpen van de expositie en de catalogus. Wij, als studenten, hebben al flink bijgedragen om straks onze expositie, catalogus en website te kunnen lanceren, maar hierbij hebben wij ook jullie hulp nodig!

Wat doen we met jouw bijdrage?

Het voornaamste doel van de crowdfunding is geld ophalen voor de productie van de catalogus en de expositie. De handgemaakte catalogus zal een overzicht laten zien van alle onderzoeksprojecten en een introductie geven over de scripties. De catalogus wordt geprint met een RISO printer. Deze manier van printen is vergelijkbaar met zeefdrukken, omdat je per kleur een drukgang nodig hebt.
De expositieruimte is nu nog leeg en we zullen apparatuur en inrichting moeten huren, zoals tafels, computer en beamers. Ook hebben we hout en verf nodig om de ruimte vorm te geven. Wij hopen met deze oproep het benodigde geld (€1800) op te kunnen halen zodat wij dit tot een success kunnen maken!

GRADUATION SHOW / STUDENTS GRAPHIC DESIGN

What is the context? And who are we?

In the weekend of the 21st – 24th of January, we, a group of 15 students Graphic Design at ArtEZ Institute of Arts organise our graduation show at the VM23 building inArnhem. The graduation show, What is the Context? is a great opportunity to share our (research)projects with all people interested.

The graduation projects provides the opportunity to show who we are as designers and our ideas, ranging from social design to speculative projects. The topics include many contemporary discussions such as gender-roles and the influences of the digital age. This is combined with hands-on research, for instance a machine that can create fonts on its own.

The exhibition will take place in VM23, a great location to show our projects and have interactions with the projects and the visitors. We, the students, have already invested a lot of time and money in this project, but to finalise the catalog, website and especially the design of the exhibition, we need your help!

What will we do with your contribution?

The main goal is the to collect money for the production of our catalog and the exhibition itself. The catalog will be handmade and will show an overview of all the research projects and will give an introduction to the theses. The catalog will be printed with a RISO printer. This method of printing is similar to silkscreen, because you need a print for every other color.
The exhibition space is empty and we need to rent equipment and furniture, such as tables, computers and beamers. We also need things like wood and paint. We hope that we can collect at least €1800 of crowd-funded money to design an amazing exhibition and print our catalogs
