Jaipur Junction brengt hun tweede album uit op vinyl.

Wat is er nou mooier dan naar muziek luisteren op vinyl? Het gaat niet alleen maar om de klank, maar ook om de belevenis en de handelingen die erbij horen.

Daarom willen we ons tweede album óók weer op vinyl uitbrengen, net als ons debuut album. En daar kunnen we jouw financiële steun goed bij gebruiken.
Zie hiernaast hoe je ons op weg kunt helpen.

De plaat moet gesneden en geperst worden. Het artwork wordt ontworpen en moet gedrukt worden. En dat mag wat kosten. Daarbij zijn alle prijzen inclusief verzending binnen de EU & UK.

Alle muziek is al opgenomen, gemixt en gemasterd. De muzikanten, technici en studio's zijn allemaal al netjes betaald.

• In het voorjaar van 2024 willen wij het album uitbrengen.
• We verwachten dat de release show in mei zal zijn op een nog nader te bepalen locatie in Utrecht.
• En uiteraard zal het album ook digitaal worden uitgebracht. Zowel in hoge kwaliteit te downloaden, als te streamen via alle bekende kanalen.

Wie zijn wij?

Jaipur Junction is een interculturele band rondom Sarita Rav (Jaipur, IND) en Otto de Jong (Utrecht, NL). In 2018 hebben we elkaar ontmoet in Jaipur, India. In 2019 zijn we voor het eerst samen gaan optreden. In Nederland, Frankrijk, Duitsland én India.
In 2020 hebben we ons eerste album uitgebracht met traditionele liedjes uit Noord-India. We hebben toen al snel besloten dat we in de toekomst onze eigen muziek willen gaan schrijven en dat zijn we dan ook gaan doen.

Wat hebben we gemaakt?

• Tussen 2020 en 2022 hebben we onze eigen songs geschreven, terwijl we meer dan 6000 km van elkaar vandaan wonen. Via email en whatsapp hebben we demo's uitgewisseld en opgenomen.
• Alle teksten zijn in Hindi en gebaseerd op poëzie van Sarita Rav zelf, ze heeft haar poëzie zelf van melodie voorzien. Dat alles is ontstaan bij haar thuis in een dorp vlakbij Jaipur in de staat Rajasthan.
• Het album is door Otto de Jong geproduceerd en het grootste gedeelte van de ritmes, instrumentale melodieën en akkoorden zijn door hem gecomponeerd.
• Veel van de ritmes hebben hun oorsprong in Noord-Indiase muziek tradities.
• In het najaar van 2022 was Sarita in Nederland en toen hebben we onze songs professioneel opgenomen met band. Grotendeels in Studio Barn In The Meadow door Matthijs Kievit.
• Tabla speler Imran Khan was ook in Nederland en hij heeft meegespeeld op het album. Hij is door zijn opa, Faiyaz Khan, geschoold in de klassiek stijl van New Delhi en heeft roots in de folk traditie van Rajasthan.
• Erwin Tuijl heeft toetsen & synthesizers gespeeld en extra productie verzorgd in zijn eigen Studio Apparatus.
• Gitarist & componist Sahil Bahl heeft gitaar, lap steel en weissenborn op het album gespeeld.
• Eén van de songs is ook deels in India opgenomen, zang in Jaipur en tabla in New Delhi.
• Er komt een Jugalbandi met drums en tabla op het album te staan. Wat letterlijk "verstrengelde tweeling" betekent, een duet van twee solomuzikanten.
• Gemixt door Matthijs Kievit in Studio Joneski.
• Gemasterd door Alex Geurink in Studio West Hoogland.

That's why we want to release our second album on vinyl again, just like our debut album. And we can surely use your financial help with that.

The record needs to be cut and pressed. The artwork is being designed and must be printed. And that will cost some. All prices are including shipping in EU & UK.

All music has already been recorded, mixed and mastered. The musicians, technicians and studio's are paid properly.

• We'd like to release our album in spring 2024.
• We expect the release show will take place at a yet to be determined location in Utrecht.

Who are we?

Jaipur Junction is an intercultural band around Sarita Rav (Jaipur, IND) and Otto de Jong (Utrecht, NL). We met in 2018 in Jaipur, India. In 2019 we started to do play concerts together in The Netherlands, France, Germany and India.
In 2020 we released our debut album with mostly traditional North-Indian songs. Shortly after we decided to write our own music. And so we did.

What did we produce?

• Between 2020 and 2022 we wrote our own songs, while living over 6000 km apart of each other. We exchanged and recorded demo's via whatsapp and email.
• All lyrics are in Hindi and based on the poetry of Sarita Rav herself, she has put her poems to melodies by herself. That all happened at her home in a village near Jaipur in the state of Rajasthan.
• The album is produced by Otto de Jong and most of the rhythms, instrumental melodies and chords are composed by him.
• Many of the rhythms have their origins in North-Indian music traditions.
• In late 2022 Sarita was in The Netherlands, during that time we recorded our songs professionally in a studio with a band. Mainly at Studio Barn In The Meadow by Matthijs Kievit.
• Tabla player Imran Khan was in The Netherlands too and he played with us on the record. He's been taught by his grandfather, Faiyaz Khan, in the classical style of New Delhi and he has roots in the folk tradition of Rajasthan.
• Erwin Tuijl played keys & synthesizers and did additional production in his own Studio Apparatus.
• Gitarist & componist Sahil Bahl played guitar, lap steel and weissenborn on the album.
• One of the songs is partly recorded in India, vocals in Jaipur and tabla in New Delhi.
• There will be Jugalbandi with drums and tabla on the album. it literally means 'entwined twins', a duet of two solo musicians.
• Mixed by Matthijs Kievit at Studio Joneski.
• Mastered by Alex Geurink in Studio West Hoogland.
