Alkahest: Live at Roadburn 2023

Hi there!
We are Alkahest, a five-piece alchemic post death metal band from Eindhoven, The Netherlands, here to tell you our story of the day we played our debut show at Roadburn 2023, and how we want to release it. Alkahest formed as a project between the renowned Roadburn Festival in Tilburg and Metal Factory in Eindhoven (The Netherlands), the only educational institute in the world for metal musicians. To realize this goal, we need your support through these donations!

The idea was to give young artists a platform to show their talent on a stage where many people can see directly what the future of metal can be like. The band consists out of two German students, one Colombian, a 16-year old drummer, and one Dutch Bass player. In a six-month process from November 2022 to April 2023, our music came into existence under the guidance of Michel Nienhuis (Autarkh & Autarkh III, ex-Dodecahedron). On the 22nd of April 2023 we performed our show at Roadburn in a packed venue. For us it was a mind-blowing experience that led us to continue with the project and turn it into a real band. It was wisely decided in advance to the show that we would record our set, in case we would like to release it.

We dive into the vast world of alchemy, our music revolving around it. Our set revolves around a concept, which we've developed in lyrics, theme, and the music itself. We tell the story of someone who is met with immense power through alchemy, and the consequences that take place for this person and everyone around them.

Now we have decided to make our debut album the live release: Alkahest - Live at Roadburn 2023! As you can imagine, we are happy to have a good live recording of our complete repertoire that is now waiting to be released. And this is where we ask for your help and contribution. Our next step is to hire a mixing engineer who will mix and master the album. We also need graphic artists to develop the artwork and lay-out of the album and our new shirt design. Then we will produce vinyl, cd’s t-shirts and longsleeves. We will make sure that you will be rewarded well for your contribution!
