I am Nathan Favot (33 yrs.) French by birth, (lived, worked and studied both at home and abroad) and now have a house and studio in Amsterdam.

After graduating from the Rietveld Academy (2017), a long-term research project started

the human -layered- identity through -layered- self-portraits (analog photography) in my studio.

FRAMEDIDENTITIES is the account of that introspective experimental exploration: for you a spur to inspiration and contemplation?

In our digital world, the tangible nature of film is important.

Film offers (both during my work behind and in front of the camera and later when printing) capturing very specific moments that result in a captivating image: a construction of layers. Light, shadow and texture are now ingredients of a unique interplay that

Can be seen in depth throughout the book.

FRAMEDIDENTITIES is an art book that makes visible an in-depth investigation into the human world of experience.

FRAMEDIDENTITIES creates an atmosphere that makes it possible to question the fixed description of the identity.

It encourages self-reflection and thus explores the stratification of us as human beings.

The final image is the fusion of those different layers.

FRAMEDIDENTITIONS challenges the 1-dimensional reality: for me as a maker (through the deepening in the different layers / realities) and for you just as much.
