Hello. My name is Maria Nemtsova. I am a concert pianist based in the Netherlands. (https://marianemtsova.com/)
Recently I recorded a new album called “Past Perfect”. The album includes both classical/romantic repertoire and some of contemporary music. All the composers I chose are exploring this sweet longing for the untouchable feelings of the past. Sometimes they do it in a quite therapeutic way, sometimes fighting against it.

Nikolai Medtner (Sonata-Reminiscenza op.38 No.1), who never accepted new Russia considered Ludwig van Beethoven (“Tempest Sonata” in d minor op. 31 No.2) as his main teacher; Polina Nazaykinskaya (“Ricercare Egaré”), Russian emigrant, who is living in the US now and a minimal music piece “Past Perfect” by Pavel Karmanov have also a lot in common: invisible threads, allusions, familiar fragrancies, states of mind that penetrate into the atmosphere of this album. It is a very personal album that seeks to offer some hope at the end.
I have released it online on the O'Classica label, however, I feel an urge to publish physical CDs as there are many people who would like to listen to the music via hard copies and read the booklet.
But for this I need your financial support I would be very grateful if you could help me. It was quite an investment for me from the beginning as I self-funded the whole recording process and now I really need your help to take the next step and offer this release more distribution.
A concert-presentation of the “Past Perfect” is planned for the 13th of October in Amstel Kerk, Amsterdam and before that I need to write the booklet and pay to the copywriter; design the booklet and pay the designer; print out the CDs; post them; rent the Amstel Church; rent the piano; tune it; pay for the photo and video shootings and materials; pay for the catering and the artist fee. As you can imagine, these costs add up quickly.
I already got a very kind support from the Wilhemina Janssen Fund and will be able to cover part of the expenses, but not nearly enough. I kindly ask you for your support and help and I hope to see you at the CD presentation on the 13th of October in Amstel Kerk in Amsterdam.
Support me in making this important project!
