Are you ready to join a flock of city-dwelling sheep on an eye-opening journey to change how we see our relationship with domesticated animals? 🐑💚

The Story Behind "Beyond the City Park: Navigating Coexistence"
Did you know that sheep were one of the first species to be domesticated?
Following my research into domestication, I discovered a herd of sheep living in the heart of Madrid's Casa de Campo park (Europe's biggest urban park). They spend their days caring for the park's land by grazing on the urban pastures. Each year, they embark on a 100 km-long migration journey to their summer pastures in the Guadarrama mountains.
"Beyond the City Park: Navigating Coexistence" is a documentary film that captures this incredible journey and explores the dynamics between humans and domesticated animals, highlighting the mutual dependence that exists between the shepherds and their flock.
Our film sets itself apart by focusing on a non-human-driven narrative, shifting the spotlight from our own experiences and perspectives to those of the sheep and their natural instincts. Through striking visuals, intimate footage, and evocative sound design, our film will offer a thought-provoking and sensory experience of the journey. By doing so, we aim to change the way we think about our place in the world and our relationship with domesticated animals, reminding us that we are not always at the centre of every story.
Who Are We?

My name is Tomasz Kulpiński, and this year am graduating from audiovisual design at WdKA in Rotterdam. I'm passionate about telling stories that inspire change and help us see the world from different perspectives. My goal is to create thought-provoking films that evoke emotions, challenge assumptions, and ignite conversations about important issues.
Together with my talented Director of Photography, Younes Laaguidi, we form a creative duo committed to producing visually captivating and meaningful content. Younes is a skilled filmmaker who has been recognized for his work on the award-winning documentary "Grapefruit for Breakfast". His artistic approach revolves around capturing the essence of his subjects and portraying them in an authentic and honest light. Younes believes that by shedding light on lesser-known stories and experiences, we can foster empathy and understanding among diverse communities.
With our combined skills in storytelling and cinematography, as well as our shared dedication to making a difference, we will join the flock from Casa de Campo with our best efforts to capture their journey!
We Can Make a Difference
By supporting "Beyond the City Park: Navigating Coexistence," you're not just funding a film – you're joining a movement to change the way we understand our relationship with domesticated animals and the environment. Help us give a voice to the sheep and shed light on the importance of coexistence and sustainability.
By submitting to film festivals and (later) distributing the film through online platforms, we want to reach environmentalists, animal lovers, and documentary enthusiasts. To maximize the impact of this unique, non-human-driven narrative, we plan on partnering with educational institutions across the Netherlands for screenings and discussions,
Our film raises awareness about our complex relationships with domesticated animals and the environment, encourages dialogue on sustainable practices, and challenges anthropocentric perspectives. The film emphasizes the importance of listening to the land and the animals we have domesticated, suggesting that such attentiveness can help us forge a more sustainable and reciprocal relationship with the natural world. Our goal is to inspire positive change and foster meaningful conversations. :)
