Een afstudeer film over intimiteit en modellenwerk.

Dit is een coming of age film geïnspireerd op French New Wave van regisseurs als Jean-Luc Godard. Het portretteert een intieme relatie tussen de 2 hoofdpersonen die beide werken als model. De film omschrijft hoe werk druk en onrealistische schoonheidsidealen persoonlijke relaties beïnvloeden. De film geeft een inkijk in de gesloten wereld van modellen werk en de invloed die het heeft op persoonlijke relaties.

Ik ben Bianca Huisman, 22 jaar, student aan de master opleiding Inter relational art Practices aan het Frank Mohr Institute. Deze film is deel van mijn afstudeer werk was de relatie tussen fashion en performance art onderzoekt. Ik schreef de eerste ideeën voor film shots na kort in Parijs te hebben gewoond. Het verhaal is sterk geïnspireerd op ervaringen van de tijd dat ik een bachelor volgde in Fashion Design terwijl ik part time werkte als model.

Motivatie:
Het verhaal is geschreven van uit persoonlijke ervaringen van een periode dat ik part time als model heb gewerkt naast mijn studie Fashion Design aan de HKU. Het ontwerpen van kleding voelde altijd al als het creëren van film personages. Daarom heb ik vaker tijdens mijn bachelor een zijspoor genomen richting het medium film.
Daarnaast is er een fascinatie voor art-house film die levens van verdwaalde jong volwassen weergeven zoals de film Lady Bird (2017 Greta Gerwig) of Palo Alto (2013 Gia Coppola)

Het verhaal komt uit een fascinatie voor de sociale structuren binnen modellenwerk en hoe makkelijk deze het privé leven overnemen. Iets wat in de media veel al onrealistisch en geportretteerd word.
Na een korte periode in Parijs te hebben gewoond heb ik het eerste idee voor een film scene geschreven. Het verhaal is daarna gegroeid in gesprekken met vrienden die al langer dan ik werken in dit veld. Een terug komend onderwerp is hoe het onderhouden van relaties ontzettend moeilijk is omdat je constant lijkt te wachten tot je terug naar huis gaat of tot je partner vertrek omdat werk opties op een andere plek beter kunnen zijn.
Deze manier van leven werd de basis van het verhaal.

Je volgt de twee hoofdpersonen Jules en Noa. Ze hebben sinds kort een relatie, deze lijkt geen stand te kunnen houden wanneer Noa vertrekt naar Nederland wanneer ze na een kort verblijf in Parijs geen werk opties heeft. Met het onverwachte vertrek komt de relatie in een grijs gebied terecht waarbij onduidelijk is hoe het verder zal gaan. Beide personages gaan intieme banden aan met andere mensen.

Het is geschreven samen met acteurs die net als ik ervaring hebben in dit werkveld.
De film zal gemaakt worden met een klein team, 2 acteurs, een camera vrouw/DOP, iemand voor geluid recording en muziek, een productie assistent en mezelf voor productie/regie.
De mensen uit mijn team zijn vrienden die dichtbij me staan. De 2 acteurs hebben beide ervaring als model en zijn gecast omdat zij als persoon lijken op de personages. Hun persoonlijke ervaringen hebben de personages en het script gevormd.

komende zomer zal de film geshoten worden als onderdeel. van mijn afstudeer jaar aan het Frank Mohr Institute, interrelation art practices.
Tijdens mijn eerste jaar is een klein deel van de scenes gefilmd en het script geschreven.
In deze master opleiding wil ik het raakvlak van fashion design en performance art onderzoeken.

Het geld van de crowdfunding zal gebruikt worden om reiskosten te denken en het huren van apparatuur (waar dit nodig is). Een groot deel zal gefilmd worden in Paris en een deel in Nederland. De crowdfunding zal gebruikt worden om deze reiskosten, verblijf en eten op set de dekken.

Ik hoop een premiere evenement te kunnen plannen komende winter (November of December) in Groningen (op school) en in Amsterdam, datums nog niet bevestigd.
Hopelijk verder in de toekomst (zomer 2024) ergens in Parijs

This is a coming of age film inspired by French New Wave from directors such as Jean-Luc Godard. It portray an intimate relationship between the 2 main characters who both work as models.
The film shows how work pressure and unrealistic beauty standerd influence personal relationships. The film will give an insight in a world that is very closed for outsiders and its influence on personal relationships.

I'm Bianca Huisman, 22 year old, student at the master degree Interrelational art Practices (iRap) on the Frank Mohr Institute (FMI). This film is part of my graduation research that will question the relation between fashion and performance art.

Motivation
The story is based on personal experience from a period where I worked part-time as a model next to my studies in Fashion Design at the HKU. Designing clothes always felt like creating garments for fictional film characters. During my bachelor I've worked on several small film productions.
I have a fascination for art-house films that portray the lives of lost young adults "boring" storylines, but incredibly comforting how relatable they are. Films such as Lady Bird (2017 Greta gretig) or Palo Alto (2013 Gia Coppola) have influenced the script.

Mijn team bestaat uit film maker en fotograaf Heleen Kosse. Ik zal geassisteerd worden in productie door Sophie Saddington. Geluid en muziek door Bram Laman. Mijn acteurs zijn Charly Ordelman en Ingmar van der Meulen.
Dit is het hoofd team van de productie. Er zijn kleine figuranten rollen voor andere acteurs/modellen.
Sommige scenes zijn gemaakt in samen werking met Queer in Wonderland. Een collectief uit Utrecht dat feesten organiseert voor de queer community.

The story comes from a fascination of social structures within the modelling world en how easily it takes over the private life. Something that is often portrayed incorrectly and idealised.
I wrote the first draft of a scene after a short period of living in Paris. After this the story grew in conversation with friend who have lived in this work field longer than me.
A returning subject is how difficult it is to maintain relationships. It seems to be as if one is constantly waiting till they have to leave or until their partner needs to leave because work options seems to be more promising somewhere else.
This way of living became the subject of this film.

You follow the 2 main character Jules and Not. They recently got into a relationship. When Noa leaves, and goes back to the Netherlands after a short stay in Paris, the relationship enters a grey area where it is uncertain if she comes back, and if they're still together. Both seem to float between different partners for a while.

The story is written in with my actors who like me, have work experience in this field.
The film will be made with a small team, 2 actors, someone on the camera/DOP, someone for sound recording an music, a production assistant and me as director/production
The grew members are all close friends. The 2 main characters have both worked as models, they're casted because they look like the fictional characters. Their personalities and personal experience have shaped the characters and the script.

I will work with film maker and photographer Heleen Kosse, will be assisted by Sophie Saddington in production. Sound and music by Bram Laman. My actors are Charly Ordelman and Ingmar van der Meulen.
besides this team there will be small parts for different models/actors.
Some scenes are made in collaboration with Queer in Wonderland. A Utrecht based collective that organises parties for the queer community.

The film will be shot this summer and will be part of my graduation work at the Frank Mohr Institute, interrelation art practices.

During this master degree I want to research the intersection between fashion design and performance art.

The money of the crowdfunding will be used to cover travel expenses and rent or equipment (where this is needed). A big part of the film will be shot in Pars and a part in the Netherlands. The crowdfunding will be used for gas for the car to drive to Paris, costs to stay in an airbnb as well as food during the shoot days.

I want to plan a release/premier event in the winter, November or December in Groningen, at my school, and in Amsterdam. For both places no dates confirmed yet.
Hopefully there will be possibilities to present it in Paris at some point in the future as well
