Wij zijn flamencogitarist Jur Vermijs en tangogitarist Tim Panman. Dit jaar willen we ons project Goldberg Flamenco Suite opnemen en uitbrengen op vinyl. En daar hebben we jouw hulp bij nodig!

Het project

Toen Jur een tijd terug de Goldbergvariaties van Bach herbeluisterde, viel hem op dat de stukken subtiele overeenkomsten vertonen met flamenco. Zo ontstond het idee om met die gelijkenissen aan de slag te gaan en als het ware een variatie op de al bestaande variaties te maken. Hij selecteerde een aantal van de delen en verbond deze aan specifieke flamencovormen (zoals bulerías, tangos en seguiriyas) en vormde deze variaties om tot flamencogitaarstukken. De arrangementen zijn gemaakt voor twee gitaren, waarbij de verschillende klankkleuren van het flamenco- en tangogitaarspel benadrukt worden. Het zijn unieke stukken geworden, die laten horen dat Bach op onvoorspelbare wijze blijft inspireren.

Waar hebben we jouw hulp voor nodig?

Omdat wij dit project zo fantastisch vinden en op gepaste wijze willen delen met de wereld, willen we deze muziek heel graag uitbrengen op vinyl. Hier zijn hoge kosten aan verbonden, voornamelijk voor de volgende zaken:

• Studiotijd
• Huur van extra muzikanten (percussie, palmas)
• Mixen
• Masteren
• Artwork
• Persen van de LP

Naast de inzet van eigen middelen, worden we ondersteund door het SENA Muziekproductiefonds en door Amarte. Een deel van de te maken kosten wordt daardoor gedekt, maar helaas kunnen we het project er niet in zijn geheel van bekostigen. Daarom zijn we op zoek naar aanvullende financiering, en daarvoor vragen we jouw hulp!

Wat krijg je ervoor terug?

Uiteraard krijgt iedereen die doneert daar iets voor terug. Het is moeilijk te overschatten hoe dankbaar we iedereen zijn die wil doneren - eeuwige dank klinkt overdreven, maar dat is het zeker niet. Natuurlijk bieden we ook tegenprestaties aan die wél tastbaar zijn. Als donateur sta je vooraan in de rij voor onze LP, en ontvang je hem als eerste. Mocht je liever een cd willen, dan is dat ook mogelijk. Maar er zijn nog meer leuke opties beschikbaar, dus bekijk gerust het hele lijstje op deze pagina.

Het betekent ontzettend veel voor ons als je wil bijdragen aan dit project. Een geslaagde crowdfunding betekent voor ons veel meer dan alleen financiële steun. We are flamenco guitarist Jur Vermijs and tango guitarist Tim Panman. This year, we hope to record our project Goldberg Flamenco Suite and release it on vinyl. To achieve this goal, we need your support!

The project

When Jur relistened to Bach’s Goldberg Variations some time ago, he noticed subtle similarities between these pieces and flamenco music. He came then came up with the idea to use those similarities and make new variations on the already existing ones. He selected some of the variations and connected these to different flamenco forms, such as bulerías, tangos and seguiriyas. He made musical arrangements for two guitars, that emphasize the different timbres of flamenco and tango guitar. This resulted in a unique collection of pieces, that prove Bach continues to inspire in unexpected ways.

Why do you we need your help?

Because we are so excited about this project and love to share it with the world according to our excitement, we want to release our music on vinyl. In order to make this happen, we need to make a lot of expenses, mainly for the following:

• Recording studio
• Fees for additional musicians (percussion, palmas)
• Mixing
• Mastering
• Artwork
• LP pressing

In addition to using our own means, our project is supported by SENA and Amarte. This covers part of our expenses, but unfortunately is not enough to pay for the entire project. That is why we are looking for additional funding and that is why we are asking you for help!

What will you receive in return?

Of course every sponsor will receive a compensation. It is hard to overestimate the gratitude we feel towards everyone that wants to donate - eternal gratitude sounds overstated, but is in fact rather close to the truth. However, we also offer tangible compensations. As a sponsor, you are first in line to receive our album on vinyl. If you prefer our album on cd, that is possible too. It would mean a lot to us if you want to participate in this project. A successful crowdfunding campaign means much more to us than just financial support. The fact that sponsors, like we do, believe in our project, cannot be compared to any financial compensation. We really hope that, thanks to you, we can realize our project!
