NIEUW / EXTRA:Mijn eerste doel, de reis te kunnen gaan maken naar Armenië is gehaald, nu wil ik extra geld op gaan halen, om in Armenië 500 extra bomen (oer walnoot, oer peer) aan te kunnen schaffen, deze zet ik neer in het woord APAGA (TOEKOMST) en deze dan vervolgens uit te delen aan de bezoekers van de tentoonstelling Dreampark in Sevan, met de simpele vraag: neem deze boom mee, plant deze (met informatie hoe), stuur een foto hiervan aan mij door en de coördinaten van de plek. Zo kan ik zien waar de bomen naar toe verdwijnen om dit om te zetten in een pakkende animatie, waarin we gaan zien dat het woord APAGA verdwijnt om in een groenere toekomst op te groeien op andere plekken in Sevan.

In Armenië is dit APAGA. En zal ik een bos aanplanten in 5 letters, elk met 1000 bomen (mocht alles op zijn plek vallen). Dit project is goedgekeurd als onderdeel het EU4Culture program "DreamPark Cultural RestArt" in Sevan Armenië. Met een klein of groot bedrag, kun je mij helpen dit te realiseren.

Met jouw bijdragen help je mij met deze droom, maar ook de inwoners van Sevan aan een groenere toekomst. Met het aanplanten van het bos dragen we ook bij aan C02 reductie en meer bewustwording. Als dit project succesvol is, zal ik eerder en sneller een dergelijk project in Nederland en andere landen kunnen gaan realiseren.

Ik begrijp natuurlijk, dat ook ik zelf, om dit project te realiseren, ook Co2 zal gaan uitstoten (dat doe ik in feite al door internet te gebruiken en dit te schrijven), 5 ton om precies te zijn. Dit ga ik zelf compenseren met de aanplant van 80 extra bomen, als punt achter APAGA. en als dat om de een of andere manier niet lukt, via TreesForAll.nl of via WithOneSeed.org.au, zoals ik al mijn door reizen uitgestoten C02 (van mijn hele leven) al heb gecompenseerd. Niet ideaal, maar een goed begin.

NEW / EXTRA:
My first goal is reached, te realize the trip to Armenia and go there to plant a future forest in de word APAGA. Now I want to collect a 500 euro extra to buy 500 trees, which I also put down in the word APAGA, to share to the visitors to Dreampark. The visitors will get the tree, with information how to plant it best, with the question to send me the foto when panted and with the GPS coordinations, so later I can make a beautiful animation on how the word APAGA is disappearing in to a new greener future elsewhere.

This dream is going to start, this April 2022, in Sevan Armenia. the EU4Culture program "DreamPark Cultural RestArtas has accepted my proposal to plant the word APAGA (future in Armenian) with a 1000 tree seedlings (if all goes well) per letter (See sketch). Please let this dream sink in. Your contribution can help me realize this dream and give a direct green impulse to the people of Sevan Armenia. (and from there to to many more places) Together we can cool down this planet.

Extra Note:
Of course I understand that I am going to exhaust extra Co2 for realizing this project (actually typing this text, uses internet, thereby power and thereby I exhaust Co2), for this project an extra of 5 tons of Co2 will be exhausted and for this, on my own account, I will plant an extra 80 trees, on then spot, and if not possible, via TreesForAll.nl or WithOneSeed.org.au, as I did with all my travel C02 exhaust, for all my live. Still not ideal, but it is a start.

The Project

This project is a direct result of a written and sketched respons to 'Dream Park', Art Sevan, art residency Open Call (part of the EU4CULUTURE project) I have presented my worldwide dream of plantong FUTURE forest to contain / store C02 in those forests, help cooling down the planet (or less fast warming up), It is my way to beautify the world, greenify the world and give my help and idea's a higher goal. For the people of Sevan this is an opportunity to get a new park / forest and a better local climate.

Please be aware that the 5 letters of APAGA (future) are 5 forests with a 1000 trees each (if all go well), that will grow, and create their own micro climate attracting birds and other animals for shelter. On their turn, they bring in new live, new seeds and the forest will change and grow. If all goes well, the letters will start to expand and in 10 to 20 years the word APAGA will start to be more vague (which is totally in line with my art practice and philosophy, see for this my artist statement at: www.camiliovanlenteren.com).
If you help me realizing this project, it will give a direct result, which is very rewarding.

Who am I?

The older I get, the more humble I become, the greener I want to see this planet.

My name is Camilio (Camiel van Lenteren) and I am, for (14 years) a conceptual installation artist (besides being a art adviser, exhibition designer, art collector (support local living artists) who works preferably in new cultures, like in Timor-Leste for now, from small gestures to large installations, with borrowed elements from that culture put in a new context, new frame or just change the material so that it gets a new meaning to broaden the expansion to Western cultures, in order to get a better understanding and a wider communication. (as I have the feeling the Western culture sees itself as the highest form, which I doubt and show).

Living in other cultures make me more humble and understand other people better, it makes me milder, more positive and wanting to help (for free) where I can. Wether this is with idea's, asked advice, money or human power, we do what we can do.

In Zambia, Malawi and Timor-leste, for instance, I worked for free to support local artists, giving them asked advice, build great exhibitions together (I invest en design), make their visibility and sales larger together. Besides i am highly concerned about the C02 we exhaust, also me by driving a car, or once a year fly back home, I track the C02 I exhaust and at a minimum compensate. I planted more than 700 trees through art installations and projects.

My goal:

Planting the APAGA forest in Sevan, with 5000 seedlings, to store more C02.

My goal is to collect enough awareness for Future Forests (storing Co2, but also create awareness we should lower our emissions) I am raising money to be able to travel to Sevan Armenia, and design the APAGA forest to local needs (specific to the site and advice from the people living there) During the residency i will be planting, give my artists talks, share idea's, learn, listen en bring home new idea's from the people in Armenia.

What is happening now, as we speak:

As we speak, the team in Sevan is collecting tree seedlings (looking for 5000 trees, which is not easy! Sevan is Very dry, and there is not much of water) for me to plan in these enormous letters APAGA (finding 10 football fields seems to be hard), which means future. So, maybe we will do Plan A smaller and Plan B as well.

From my side I created and sketched this idea to a workable plan, started this crowdfunding and in the same time, here in Dili, Timor-Leste I am working on 3 exhibitions for local artists, for free, to support professional exhibition set up .
I am asking your help, to sponsor me with any amount you want, to help me going to Sevan, Armenia, as traveling these Covid-19 times are difficult and expensive. For my travel C02 exhaust I will compensate myself by planting 80 trees extra (compensate 5 ton of C02) and for every amount of sponsored money I will have a great compensatory present (sometimes looks humble, but it is the idea behind it that counts).

Sevan is an area which is not rich of forests (as I was told) and I would like to offer them a dream park forest to enjoy themselves in, but also to collect Co2 for them en the people who live in and around Sevan. I hope you will help me and the people to give them this dream.
