Geweldig!!!!Het doel bedrag is behaald! Dankzij een donatie van het Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst en het Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds. 3732 euro staat er op de teller!
Maar er zijn nog ruim 2 weken te gaan. Ik mag daarom het doelbedrag verhogen en nieuwe doelen presenteren. Het nieuwe streef bedrag wordt 4000 euro.

Nieuwe doelen voor optimale resultaten
1. Fair practice code
Het wordt –eindelijk- goed gebruik om kunstenaars normaal te betalen voor hun werk in plaats van hen alles voor niets te laten doen. Dat heet de fair practice code. Ik wil heel graag de mensen die bijdragen aan de catalogus een redelijke vergoeding geven. De mensen die een tekst schrijven, de fotograaf die foto's maakt van de expositie. Degene die de performance doet op de opening. Iedereen die voor mij een bijdrage levert.

2. Meer pagina's en extra ontwerpmogelijkheden
Meer pagina's en extra ontwerpmogelijkheden Er is al een tekst binnen van Trudi van Zadelhoff en ik werk met Janine Ennslin aan een foto performance, vooruitlopend op de performance die hij gaat doen tijdens de opening op 25 februari 2022. Verder krijgen alle kunstwerken krijgen een eigen pagina, het boek wordt daarmee dubbeldik. Ook krijgt de vormgeving nog meer aandacht. De themakleur komt op de zijkant van het boekje (kleur op snee), en er komen 4 gaten in de kaft met een draad erdoor. Zo wordt het een heel bijzondere catalogus. Een collectors item!
Verder krijgen alle werken krijgen een eigen pagina, het boek wordt daarmee dubbel dik.

De vormgeving krijgt nog meer aandacht zo komt er een kleur op de zijkant van het boekje (kleur op snee), 4 gaten in de kaft met een draad erdoor. Zo wordt het een heel bijzonder boekje. (ongeveer zoals op deze afbeelding)

Voor femmeBRUT, mijn komende solo-expositie in februari 2022 in de BAGAGEHAL in Loods 6 in Amsterdam met giga-grote werken, wil ik heel graag een prachtige catalogus maken. Ik hoop dat ik deze catalogus met jullie steun begin 2022 kan realiseren.

Over mij
Ik ben Marja van Putten, beeldend kunstenaar, woonachtig in Amsterdam en werkzaam in Oude Niedorp (NH). Ik zie mijzelf als een hedendaagse kritische schilder, die schilderijen verbindt met andere media: textiel, c-prints en objecten.
Ik organiseer kunstprojecten en heb een bedrijf in webdesign en grafisch ontwerp: Arttrust. Daarnaast ben ik initiatiefnemer en bestuurslid van de Stichting DKB, Stichting Digitaal KunstBeheer, die zich inzet voor de digitale bewaring van oeuvres van overleden kunstenaars. Ook was ik 20 jaar assistent voor de sculpturen van Armando, overleden in 2018, waaronder enorme bronzen sculpturen.

Over femmeBRUT
femmeBRUT is een solo expositie van mijn nieuwste werk, die in februari 2022 plaatsvindt in de BAGAGEHAL in Loods 6 in Amsterdam. In deze prachtige grote ruimte heb ik de kans om een serie monumentale schilderijen van 2 x 2 meter met verf en textiel te tonen. De doeken worden gedeeltelijk gemaakt met de longarm machine, waar ik onder deskundige begeleiding kan werken op deze naaimachine van 3 meter breed.
Met een longarm machine beweegt de naald over de stof in plaats van de stof onder de naald door. Zo kan ik materiaal stikken in het midden, grote vlakken maken en tekenen met de naaimachine. In mijn werk spring ik vrijelijk om met de mogelijkheden die de machine biedt.

Over deze crowdfunding
Om deze bijzondere expositie te kunnen documenteren, wil ik graag een mooie catalogus maken. Daar denk ik €3000,- voor nodig te hebben. Het wordt een boekje van 20 x 20 cm in een oplage van 250. Er komen 4 teksten in van een kunsthistorica, een kunstenaar/performer/schrijver, een schrijvende collega en een Engelse kunstenaar en hoofd schilderen op de academie in Middlesbrough. Ze worden ook in het Engels vertaald door een native speaker. Na de expositie komt er nog een passend los inlegvel in de catalogus met foto's van de expositie. De catalogus is op de expositie verkrijgbaar.
Dit bedrag voor de catalogus hoop ik samen met jullie op te halen als kers op de taart van de expositie femmeBRUT.

Over de beloning
Natuurlijk ga ik iedereen die bijdraagt aan het succes van deze crowdfundingsactie belonen. Ik heb een aantal toepasselijke en bijzondere beloningen samengesteld die passen bij het gedoneerde bedrag. Dat kan al vanaf €10,-, maar meer mag vanzelfsprekend ook!
Kijkt u in de rechterkolom naar de beloningen, o.a. een speciaal voor deze crowdfunding gemaakte kleine doekjes. Een doek van 20x20 cm met enveloppe voor 250,- en 10 x 10 cm voor 95,-.

Over mijn schilderijen
Textiele elementen speelden altijd een rol in mijnschilderijen, maar in de nieuwe werken speelt textiel ‘de hoofdrol’, en vallen er veel dingen op hun plek. Ik vond de combinatie van de ‘schone’ textiel die snel kwetsbaarheid en intimiteit oproept samen met het ‘vieze’ van verf altijd al fascinerend. Ik gebruik verf in combinatie met bont, zijde, allerlei soorten textiel, materialen en technieken die traditioneel worden geassocieerd met vrouwenwerk / handwerken.
Zo fungeren ze als een mix van protest tegen en bewondering voor de geschiedenis van vrouwenarbeid. Zeker nu ik zie hoe er meer aandacht in de kunst is gekomen voor textielkunst voel ik des te meer de behoefte daar mijn eigen visie op te geven. Zowel met verf als ook met textiel gebruik ik grove en fijne manieren van werken: fijnschilderen, met de grote kwast of bezem te werk gaan, kleine pailletjes opnaaien of met grote steken lappen met rafels in proppen op het doek bevestigen.

Jeugd
De textieltechnieken verwijzen ook naar mijn jeugd. Oma, moeder en zussen, nichtjes, ze waren er allemaal bij betrokken. En ik, als zesjarig meisje, naaide ook al randjes op de machine!
Tegenwoordig is textiel eindelijk verlost is van de link naar de beperkte rol die aan vrouwen is toebedeeld, mede daardoor voel ik des te meer de behoefte er mijn visie op te geven.

Ervaring
Na 30 jaar experimenteren heb ik een breed arsenaal aan technieken, materiaalkennis en ervaring en hoe die in te zetten. Daardoor kan ik stap voor stap handelen en blindvaren op mijn intuïtie. Gedeeltelijk is het doordacht en voorbereid, gedeeltelijk impulsief. Met dit nieuwe werk sla ik een nieuwe weg in. Het is een verrassende wereld die zich voor me opent en eindeloos lijkt.

About me
I am Marja van Putten, visual artist, living in Amsterdam and working in a small village Oude Niedorp (NH). I look at myself as a contemporary critical painter, connecting paintings with other media like textiles, c-prints and objects. About femmeBRUT
femmeBRUT is a solo exhibition of my latest work, which will take place in February 2022 in the BAGAGEHAL in Loods 6 in Amsterdam. In this beautiful large space I have the opportunity to show a new series of monumental paintings of 2 x 2 meters with paint and textile. The canvases are partly made with the longarm machine, where I can work under expert guidance on this sewing machine of 3 meters wide. With a longarm machine, the needle moves over the fabric instead of the fabric moving under the needle. This allows me to stitch material in the middle, make large areas and draw with the sewing machine. In my work, I freely jump with the possibilities the machine offers.

About this crowdfunding
To be able to document this special exhibition, I would like to make a nice catalogue. I will need €3000 for this. It will be a booklet of 20 x 20 cm in an edition of 250. It will contain 4 texts: one by an art historian, an artist/performer/writer, a writing colleague and one by an English artist and head of painting at the academy in Middlesbrough.
They will also be translated into English by a native speaker. After the exhibition, there will be an appropriate loose insert in the catalogue with photos of the exhibition. The catalogue will be available at the exhibition.I hope to raise this amount for the catalogue together with you as the icing on the cake of the femmeBRUT exhibition.

About my paintings
Textile elements have always played a role in my paintings, but in the new works textiles play 'the leading role', and many things fall into place. I have always found the combination of the 'clean' textiles that quickly evoke vulnerability and intimacy together with the 'dirt' of paint fascinating. I use paint in combination with fur, silk, all kinds of textiles. Materials and techniques traditionally associated with women's work / needlework. Thus they function as a mix of protest against and admiration for the history of women's labour. Especially now that I see how more attention has been paid to textile art in art, I feel the need to give my own vision on it. I use coarse and fine ways of working with paint as well as with textiles: fineart painting, working with a large brush or broom, sewing on small sequins or attaching rags with frayed pieces to the canvas with large stitches.

Youth
The textile techniques also refer to my childhood. Grandma, mother and sisters, nieces, they were all involved. And I, as a six-year-old girl, already sewed borders on the machine!
Nowadays, textiles are finally free of the link to the limited role assigned to women, which is why I feel the need to express my views on them all the more.

Experience
After 30 years of experimenting, I have a wide arsenal of techniques, material knowledge and experience and how to use them. This allows me to act step by step and blindly follow my intuition. Partly it is thoughtful and prepared, partly impulsive. With this new work I am taking a new path. It's a surprising world that opens up to me and seems endless.
