Mijn naam is Michela Amici en ik ben harpiste. In 2018 ben ik afgestudeerd in harp met een Master of Music in “New Music and Innovative Practices” aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium van Den Haag bij Ernestine Stoop. Daarnaast ben ik mij gaan specialiseren in de barokharp (de 17de eeuw harp met drie rijen snaren, ook wel genoemd Arpa Doppia) aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium bij Christina Pluhar. Zelf ben ik verbonden aan verschillende ensembles waaronder de Harp Sirens harp-sextet en het slagwerk, contrabas en harp trio Amici, en ik treed regelmatig op in verschillende festivals in Nederland.

Een debuutalbum

In het afgelopen jaar ben ik gaan zoeken naar een eigen stem in mijn muziek. Hier ben ik mij gaan verdiepen in de barok muziek uit Italië, het land waar ik ben opgegroeid en waar ik muziek en architectuur heb gestudeerd. Tevens ben ik samen gaan werken met componisten uit Nederland om nieuwe muziek te laten schrijven voor barokharp en zang.

Deze inspirerende muziek wil ik graag met jullie delen door middel van opnames van hoge kwaliteit. Samen met mezzo sopraan Georgia Burashko ga ik in Januari 2022 het album opnemen.

In April zal de single al gereleased worden en in Mei 2022 wordt het album digitaal gereleased op alle platforms. Op vrijdag 3 Juni 2022 wordt het album gepresenteerd tijdens een gezellig concert van mij en Georgia in het hartje van Den Haag bij Korzo Theater, om 20.00 uur.

Muziek, poëzie en illustraties

Het programma dat ik ga opnemen bestaat uit mooie barok stukken uit Italië en nieuwe composities uit Nederland voor barokharp en mezzo sopraan geschreven door componisten Karmit Fadael, Eva Beunk en Amarante Nat.

Wat mij ontzettend heeft geïnspireerd in deze zoektocht is de prachtige barokharp solo “Fos Anesperon” uit Liknon van componiste Calliope Tsoupaki. Dit stuk zal ik ook opnemen in mijn album.

Voor de liederen zijn er mooie teksten geschreven door onder andere dichteres en kunstenares Salomé Roodenburg.

Bovendien zal het digitale album kleurrijke en fantasievolle illustraties van Soña Lee krijgen. Deze illustraties krijg je ook op riso-print tijdens het release concert en kan je ze thuis aan de muur hangen als herinnering aan de muziek.

Waarom heb ik jouw donatie nodig?

Graag wil ik deze mooie muziek, gedichten en illustraties met jullie delen. Dankzij het Sena Muziekproductiefonds heb ik een deel van de kosten van het album kunnen dekken, maar er zijn nog andere kosten die gedekt moeten worden, zoals het schrijven van de gedichten (door Salomé Roodenburg), het maken en printen van de illustraties (door Soña Lee), de huur van de opname locatie (Westvest90 kerk in Schiedam), de opnameleider (Jakub Klimeš), en de huur van de zaal in Den Haag (Korzo Theater) voor het release concert.

Let me introduce myself

My name is Michela Amici and I play harp. After my studies in Italy, I graduated in 2018 in harp with a Master of Music in “New Music and Innovative Practices” at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, where I studied with Ernestine Stoop. Afterwards I went on specialising in baroque harp (the 17th century three-rows harp, also called Arpa Doppia) at the Royal Conservatory with Christina Pluhar. I am a founding member of the Harp Sirens harp-sextet and of the percussion, double bass and harp trio Amici, and I perform regularly in various music festivals in The Netherlands.

A debut album

During the last year I have been searching for a unique voice in my music. I have been researching early baroque music from Italy, the country where I grew up and where I studied both music and architecture. Furthermore I've been collaborating with composers from The Netherlands to commission new music for baroque harp and voice.

I'd love to share this wonderful music with you through high quality recordings. Together with mezzo soprano Georgia Burashko I will record the album in January 2022.

The single will be released already in April 2022, and the album will be released digitally in May 2022 and will be available on all platforms. On friday 3 June 2022 there will be a cosy release concert with me and Georgia in The Hague at the Korzo Theatre, at 20.00.

Music, poetry and illustrations

The program that I will record includes inspiring baroque works from Italy, as well as several new compositions from The Netherlands for baroque harp and mezzo soprano, written by fabolous composers Karmit Fadael, Eva Beunk en Amarante Nat.

Moreover I will record the beautiful baroque harp solo "Fos Anesperon" from Linkon by composer Calliope Tsoupaki, the piece that inspired my search at first.

The new compositions will also include texts written specially for this album among which by poet, librettist and visual artist Salomé Roodenburg.

The digital album will also feature cheerful and imaginative illustrations made by Soña Lee. These illustrations will be also available for you at the release concert in a limited edition riso-print, so that you can hang them on your wall and remember the music.

Why do I need your donation?

I would love to share this beautiful music, inspiring poetry and illustrations with you all. Thanks to the Sena Muziekproductiefonds I was able to cover one part of the production costs of the album. However there are still costs that have to be covered, such as the writing of the texts (by Salomé Roodenburg), the making and printing of the illustrations (by Soña Lee), the rent of the recording venue (Westvest90 kerk in Schiedam), the recording engineer (Jakub Klimeš), and the rent of the venue (Korzo Theatre) for the release concert in The Hague.

Chi sono

Ciao, sono Michela Amici, arpista. Dopo i miei studi presso il Conservatorio Rossini di Pesaro, ho studiato arpa classica sotto la guida di Ernestine Stoop presso il Conservatorio Reale dell'Aja in Olanda, dove ho ricevuto nel 2018 un Master of Music in "nuovi tipi di pubblico e pratiche innovative". Inoltre mi sono specializzata in arpa barocca sotto la guida di Christina Pluhar presso lo stesso Conservatorio. Ho fondato diverse ensembles, tra cui il sestetto di arpe Harp Sirens, il trio Amici (arpa contrabbasso e percussioni) e mi esibisco regolarmente in festival internazionali.

Un album di debutto

Nello scorso periodo ho ricercato una voce personale nella mia musica. Da un lato ho svolto ricerche nella musica barocca Italiana e dall'altro ho collaborato con compositrici Olandesi alla realizzazione di un repertorio contemporaneo per arpa barocca e canto.

Con grande piacere vorrei condividere con voi queste musiche meravigliose attraverso registrazioni di altà qualità. In gennaio registrerò i brani dell'album di debutto assieme con la cantante Georgia Burashko.

In aprile 2022 uscirà già il singolo ed in Marzo 2022 l'album digitale sarà disponibile online su tutte le piattaforme. Il 3 giugno ci sarà inoltre un concerto di presentazione presso il teatro Korzo dell'Aja.

I testi delle canzoni sono stati scritti appositamente per questo album dalla scrittrice Salomé Roodenburg. Inoltre l'album includerà illustrazioni fantasiose e ricche di colori realizzate dall'artista Soña Lee.

Perchè ho bisogno della tua donazione?

Grazie al supporto del fondo Sena Muziekproductiefonds sono riuscita a coprire una parte dei costi di produzione dell'album. Tuttavia ci sono ancora delle spese che vanno coperte, tra cui per la scrittura dei testi delle canzoni, la realizzazione e la stampa delle illustrazioni, l'affito della sala di registrazione, il tecnico del suono e l'affitto della sala per il concerto di presentazione.
