Who are we?
My name is Matthieu Acosta, flamencoguitarist and composer. Together with my good friends and most of all fantastic musicians, Irene Gabarrón & Ruven Ruppik, we have played for several years

Who are we?
My name is Matthieu Acosta, flamencoguitarist and composer. Together with my good friends and most of all fantastic musicians, Irene Gabarrón & Ruven Ruppik, we have played for several years now as a trio consisting of guitar (myself), flute (Irene) and percussion (Ruven).
We’ve mostly played original compositions by yours truly that have undergone quite some change over the years.
Now the music has reached a point where it’s evolved quite a bit from where it started but it’s still true to that original idea. And so we find ourselves at the perfect moment to record it.
What kind of music?
Virtuoso instrumental flamenco music that stays true to the character of flamenco but also looks at other sources for inspiration, like for instance classical music, Brazilian music and even Argentinean folk music. Great composers like: Samuel Barber, Baden Powell and Eduardo Falú.

We’re very respectful of the wonderful music that flamenco is and add our own character, culture and musical experiences outside of flamenco to the mix.This way we can create something new, not by forcefully fusing things together but by weaving these things into the very fiber of the compositions to create something more natural and subtly eclectic.
How can you help?
We’re very happy to have received substantial funding from Sena with the Sena Performers Muziekproductiefonds, this has allowed us to start making plans and reserve some studio time. However, the amount won’t fully cover the expenses to make a high quality recording, something that the music and musicians deserve.
This is where you can help us realize this ambition! As it is a reward based system, it’s not simply donating something but you’ll get something in return. And I’m sure there’s something you’ll like!
