CinemAsia Film Festival is sinds 2003, ruim 18 jaar, de verbinding tussen de Aziatische film en filmmakers en het Nederlandse publiek. Door COVID en het verlies van belangrijke fondsen, kan CinemAsia zonder jullie hulp niet blijven bestaan.

Door COVID zijn we het afgelopen jaar niet in staat geweest het festival te organiseren en mede daardoor is ook de toekomst van het festival in gevaar gekomen. Na 18 jaar onafgebroken inzet van het team, alle vrijwilligers, het bestuur en deelnemers, om het jaarlijkse festival, FilmLAB en alle andere activiteiten te realiseren.

Door het verlies van onze vierjaarlijkse structurele subsidie, moet CinemAsia de komende vier jaar zelf een financieel gat dichten van €100.000,- structurele kosten. Dit beogen we te doen door deze crowdfunding en aanvullende subsidies.

Het geld wordt gebruikt om in de komende jaren het team te betalen en ons kantoor te kunnen aanhouden. Daarnaast zorgt het ervoor dat we ons festival, FilmLAB en de educatieve programma's kunnen voortzetten.

Indien wij dit bedrag niet weten te verzamelen, bestaat er de serieuze kans dat CinemAsia ophoudt te bestaan. Alsjeblieft, help ons ons werk voort te zetten, zodat wij de Aziatische stem in film en overige media kunnen blijven ontwikkelen; verhalenvertellers kunnen blijven trainen en via CinemAsia naar een zo breed mogelijk publiek kunnen brengen.

WIE WE ZIJN: CinemAsia Film Festival is sinds 2003 de toegangspoort tot Aziatische films en filmmakers in Nederland.

ONZE MISSIE: De missie van CinemAsia is om Aziatische stemmen en verhalen te laten horen en vertegenwoordigen in de media- en culturele sector in Nederland en Europa door middel van ons jaarlijkse filmfestival, educatieve en trainingsprogramma's zoals FilmLAB.

WAAROM: Inclusiviteit en diversiteit maken ruimte voor diverse stemmen en verhalen voor verbinding binnen de grotere gemeenschap.

- Langstlopende Aziatische media- en communityplatform in Nederland.

- 40 Aziatische diaporische korte films geproduceerd binnen ons FilmLAB-programma.

- Meer dan 300 jonge filmmakers, programmeurs en culturele werkernemersrs opgeleid.

- Eerste Aziatische LGBTQI-film en cultureel festival in Europa.

- In 2016 genomineerd voor de De Code Culturele Diversiteit Award

CinemAsia Film Festival is the gateway to Asian films and filmmakers in The Netherlands for the past 18 years since 2003. Due to COVID and loss of major funding, CinemAsia cannot continue without your help!

We had to cancel this year’s festival due to COVID and our future is in jeopardy after 18 years of our amazing team, board, volunteers, participants and partners putting on CinemAsia’s annual film festival, FilmLAB and other activities.

Due to the loss of our 4 year structural subsidy, we need to raise the missing 100,000 EUR in our budget for the next 4 years for CinemAsia’s structural costs. We hope to bridge this gap with this crowdfunding and through other grants.

We would use the money raised here to re-hire staff, keep our office and help run our festival, FilmLAB and educational programs for the up coming festival in March 2022 and the coming years.

If we are not able to raise additional funding, our festival may cease to exist. Please help us continue our work in creating and exhibiting Asian stories in film and media and training storytellers and cultural workers to represent Asian voices in the Dutch media landscape.
