Support us in realizing the Breaking Boundaries project & create a positive change in the art world.
To restart and give artists and the cultural sector what they missed during the past year, the idea of breaking boundaries was born.
Breaking boundaries brings together 12 emerging artists, selected by 8 curators, who will exhibit their work in 6 art spaces in 4 countries in the course of a year.
In September 2021, a specially designed crate with all the artworks safely stored inside will reach the heart of Istanbul at Karsi, for a month, and then the crate starts its journey to De Meldkamer in Maastricht.
Then the artworks proceed on their journey to Italy. First, they will be shown at Officina 15 at Castiglione dei Pepoli and then move to Venice at Atopos.
In March, the crate will continue its trip up to Patty Morgan in Amsterdam and ending at Centercourt during Munich Art week in September 2022.
The artworks will travel throughout Europe in a special crate created for the occasion, treasuring/safeguarding the memories of traveling.
Through this project and your precious support, we will create a positive change.
We will establish an international professional network among art spaces, artists, and curators. Foster their career, and enrich the local art scene with this international exhibition after a year of stillness.

The contemporary art world needs a change!
In a report published by Kunstenpunt in 2018, it was highlighted how unsustainable -both economically & environmentally- it is for the artists & cultural professionals to travel. Cover their transportation and accommodation cost, plus most of the time, installing the artwork unpaid. The same applies to the work of (young) curators.
Creating a positive change!
This was the drive that pushed us to create Breaking Boundaries. A traveling exhibition on a tight budget with artists and curators fairly paid in times where no exhibition travels easily.
The artists, curators, and off-spaces will have the chance to connect through this project, present the artworks to a new crowd and introduce the artists to a different (international) art scene.

Be part of the project:
As part of the exhibition, a tea ceremony hosted by Anne Buscher will function as a meeting place.
Artists, curators, local art lovers, and you too will meet online or live and share this unique moment.
Participants will dialogue and extend their professional connections while enjoying this special ceremony.
Curators and artists will talk through Instagram Live session- about their curatorial style and work.
These events will allow you to know more about the "behind the scenes" of exhibition-making.

Where will the money from crowdfunding be used?
The money collected will be used to pay the artists' & curator's fees for the exhibitions.
The artist and curators are paid following the fair art guidelines.
The creation of a Leporello will be possible with part of the crowdfunded money.
This specially designed catalog will treasure the core of this exhibition and will treasure the information about the whole project in the different spaces.
