Thank you all for taking an interest in my crowdfunding campaign. I hope I can make you as enthusiastic as I am, and you will help me reach my goal!

It is a very difficult and long process to find a bow that brings out the absolute best in your instrument. It took me two years of searching, in different countries, at the best auctions and luthiers. And the longer you search, the more critical you get. But a few months ago I did find it, in Amsterdam! I finally heard the sound I wanted while playing with this bow that I didn't hear with all the other bows I tried before. The perfect balance between a rich, deep, powerful sound and light, transparant, subtlety.
It's not just about the sound, the bow also has to be flexible to do whatever you want, and this bow has no limits in that regard.

Unfortunately an amazing violin bow like this one has a significant price tag. The price is more then my initial budget. So I really need all of your help to get this final financial part and make the purchase possible!

Are you wondering who is the maker of this beautiful bow? Here is a little bit about Charles Peccatte:

Charles Peccatte (14 October 1850 – 22 October 1918) was a French Archetier(bow maker). He was born in Mirecourt. He was trained by August Lenoble with whom he later had a partnership which lasted until 1881.
Charles had a unique way of carving heads. The heads of his bows are strong, powerful, yet still complementary to the light, elegant style of that era. His working of the bow sticks left them more rigid, which made them very powerful. (In the image attached I show the ‘head’ of the Peccatte bow that I want to buy). His bows have received consistent recognition from soloists.

Het vinden van de stok die het allerbeste uit de viool haalt is een lang en intensief proces. Ik zocht twee jaar lang, in verschillende landen, bij veilingen en vioolbouwers. En hoe langer je zoekt hoe kritischer je wordt. Maar een aantal maanden geleden vond ik dé stok, in Amsterdam! Met deze stok lukt het me een nog specialere klank uit mijn viool te halen, wat me daarvoor met de andere stokken die ik heb geprobeerd niet lukte. De perfecte balans tussen een rijk, vol, krachtig geluid en lichte, transparante, subtiliteit.
Het gaat niet alleen om het geluid. De stok moet ook zo flexibel zijn dat hij precies doet wat je verlangt, en deze stok heeft op dat gebied geen limiet.

Helaas zit er aan zo'n fantastische vioolstok een flink prijskaartje. En hij kost meer dan mijn oorspronkelijke budget reikte. Ik heb dus echt al jullie hulp hard nodig om dit laatste financiële deel rond te krijgen!

Vragen jullie je af wie diegene is die zo'n prachtige stok kan maken? Hier is een klein stukje over Charles Peccatte:

Charles Peccatte (14 October 1850 – 22 October 1918) was een Franse boogmaker, geboren in Mirecourt. Hij was opgeleid door August Lenoble met wie hij later een partnerschap had die duurde tot 1881.
Charles had een unieke manier in het snijden van de punt van de stok. De punten van zijn stokken zijn sterk, krachtig, maar toch complementair aan de lichte en elegante stijl van die tijd. (In de afbeelding hieronder zien jullie de punt van de Peccatte stok die ik wil kopen). Zijn strijkstokken hebben consequente erkenning gekregen van solisten.
