Omschrijving van het project

Aircilla is een interdisciplinaire kinetische geluidsinstallatie van geluidskunstenares Gemma Luz Bosch en installatiemaker Jurriaan de Vos. Deze installatie wordt ontwikkeld in samenwerking met Museum Speelklok, en zal daar van 1 juli tot en met 30 september fysiek ervaarbaar zijn!

De installatie bestaat uit 271 keramische klankobjecten die aan touwtjes hangen en door een groot stalen mechanisme golvend in beweging worden gebracht. De handgemaakte klankobjecten slingeren en botsen tegen elkaar, en maken daardoor geluid op hun eigen manier, toon en klankkleur. Met deze installatie willen we het publiek (JOU DUS) onderdompelen in een bewegende ‘zwerm van klank’.

We omarmen en sturen de schijnbare willekeur van het slingeren en botsen van de klankobjecten, wat de installatie spannend maakt om naar te kijken en te luisteren. De interacties tussen de klankobjecten en het nét wel of nét niet botsen of synchroon bewegen geeft je een heleboel ruimte voor eigen verbeelding en interpretatie.

De Makers

Jurriaan de Vos is in 2018 afgestudeerd aan de Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten(AHK), aan de faculteit mime. Als maker is hij gefascineerd door kinetische werken en het transformeren van ruimtes. Hij gebruikt graag transparante, mechanische constructies die het publiek intrigeren door hun complexiteit.

Gemma Luz Bosch studeert dit jaar af aan de Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht (HKU) als Music Performance Artist. Haar fascinatie voor “hoe klank ontstaat” leidde haar tot het bedenken en maken van eigen keramische instrumenten. In haar werk gebruikt ze deze nieuwe instrumenten om nieuwe klanken toe te voegen aan het klankenpalet. Hiermee onderzoekt zij de grenzen van het begrip muziek, en wil zij de toeschouwers prikkelen om ook dagelijkse geluiden als muziek te ervaren.

Samen delen we een fascinatie voor immersief werk en zoeken we manieren om het publiek onder te dompelen, te prikkelen en nieuwsgierig te maken. Onze verschillende invalshoeken vullen elkaar aan om een intrigerend, levend, trillend, klinkend landschap te maken.

Aircilla heeft jou nodig!

Aircilla wordt c.a. 6x8x6 meter en bestaat uit 271 keramische klankobjecten, 271 stalen framepjes, 2 km touw, 8 kilo aan 3D-prints, een groot stalen wiel, 40 meter truss, 60 meter steigerbuis, 500 klemmen en 1200 katrollen. Om al deze materialen te kopen hebben we al veel geld bij elkaar geschraapt, maar wij hebben nog €3500 nodig... En daarvoor kunnen we JOUW hulp uitstekend gebruiken! Voor elke euro die jij doneert kunnen wij weer een katrol of steigerklem kopen. En als je méér dan één euro doneert zou je ook nog wel eens in aanmerking kunnen komen voor één van onze mooie mini-Aircilla's als tegenprestatie!

Description of the project

Aircilla is a collaboration between sound artist Gemma Luz Bosch and installation artist Jurriaan de Vos, in which they combine their qualities to create an interdisciplinary kinetic sound installation. You can experience Aircilla from 1 July until 30 September at Museum Speelklok in Utrecht, the Netherlands!

The installation is a swarm of ceramic sound objects that are hanging on ropes and are put into motion by a big mechanism. The handmade and therefore unique sound objects swing and collide with each other, creating sound and timbres in their own way. The random pendulum movements, the subtle interactions between the sound objects and whether or not they collide makes the installation exciting to watch. With Aircilla we want to immerse the audience in a new moving landscape.

The artists

Jurriaan de Vos graduated in 2018 from the Amsterdam School at the Arts (AHK), atthe faculty of mime. As an artist he is fascinated by kinetic works and the transformation of spaces. He likes to use transparent, mechanical constructions that intrigue the audience with their complexity.

Gemma Luz Bosch will graduate this year from the Utrecht School of the Arts(HKU) as a Music Performance Artist. Her fascination with the different ways of producing sound led her to invent and make her own ceramic instruments. In her work she uses these new instruments exploring the boundaries of the concept of music inviting the audience to experience music in everyday sounds.

Together we share a fascination for immersive work. Our different perspectives complement each other in the creation of an intriguing, living, vibrant, soundscape.

Aircilla needs you!

Aircilla will be approximately 6x8x6 meters, made of 271 ceramic sound objects, 2 km of rope, 60 meters of scaffolding, 40 meters of truss, a big metal weel, 500 clamps and 1200 pulleys. To buy this material we already gathered a lot of money, but we still need €3500... And that's what we need YOU for! For each euro you donate we can buy another pulley or clamp. And if you donate more that 1 euro, you might even get one of our beautiful mini-Aircilla's sent to your doorstep!

Aircilla es una instalación cinética-sonora creada por Gemma Luz Bosch y Jurriaan de Vos. ¡Esta instalación podrá ser visitada desde el 1 de julio hasta el 30 de septiembre en el Museum Speelklok, Utrecht, Países Bajos!

Aicilla es una nube de 271 objetos sonoros de cerámica colgados con cuerdas. El mecanismo hace que los objetos sonoros se muevan y choquen entre si creando un paisaje sonoro. Al ser hechos a mano son únicos por lo que cada uno tiene su propia voz y danza. El movimiento aleatorio pendular, las sutiles interacciones entre los objetos sonoros, el no saber si se chocan o no se chocan hacen que Aircilla sea impredecible. Con esta instalación queremos sumergir(te) al público en un nuevo paisaje en movimiento.

Los artistas

Jurriaan de Vos se graduó en 2018 en la Escuela de Artes de Amsterdam (AHK), en la facultad de mimo. Como artista le fascinan las obras cinéticas y la transformación de espacios. En su trabajo usa construcciones mecánicas transparentes que intrigan al público por su complejidad.

Gemma Luz Bosch se graduará este año de la Escuela de Artes de Utrecht(HKU) como artista sonora. Su fascinación por las diferentes formas de producir sonido la llevó a inventar y fabricar sus propios instrumentos de cerámica. En sus conciertos utiliza estos nuevos instrumentos para agregar nuevos sonidos y explorar el límite del concepto música.

Juntos buscamos formas de sumergir, estimular y despertar la curiosidad del público. Nuestras perspectivas se complementan para crear un paisaje intrigante, vivo, vibrante y sonoro.

Aircilla será aproximadamente 6x8x6 metros (L*Anch*Alt) y hecha de: 271 objetos cerámicos, 271 estructuras de metal, 2 km de cuerda, una gran construcción de metal, 60 metros tubos de andamio, 500 abrazaderas metálicas y 1200 poleas. Ya hemos recaudado dinero, pero para poder comprar todos estos materiales te necesitamos. ¡Por cada euro que dones podremos comprar una polea! Y si donas más puedes recibir una pequeña versión de Aircilla. En total necesitamos recaudar 3.500 ¿nos ayudas?
