About us

MARC is a multidisciplinary artistic research collective, which stimulates collaboration between artists of different disciplines through the production of a topic based interdisciplinary exhibition.

Through multidisciplinary collaboration our aim is to express creativity without being confined by the boundaries of a particular discipline or style. In our process we share our different approaches to open ourselves to new thinking patterns.

MARC is an initiative of curator Michela Trovato Giancardillo, musician and composer Giuseppe Doronzo and visual artists Roman Ermolaev.

About our project
The topic we are working on for this edition is ‘Heritage in the Era of the Digital Cloud: Contemporaneity Through Archives’.

Through an open call process, we selected three artists coming from different disciplines to work together with us on this topic for a period of two months. The goal of these two months is to produce an interdisciplinary exhibition together.

The selected artists are: multidisciplinary artist & designer Kurina Sohn, image researcher & graphic designer Mirelle van Tulder and musician Robbert van Hulzen.

In these two months we are working together by following a specific structure, in which the first period is dedicated to research and knowledge exchange. During our research period we invited three guests to guide and inspire us and to explore the topic with us.
Our guests were:
-curator and researcher Annet Dekker (UvA)
-experimental filmmaker and researcher Paula Albuquerque (Gerrit Rietveld Academy)
-curator Sofia Mourato (Do You Mean Architecture)

Our Goal
Now that we are in our second period, we are completely focussing on the production of our multidisciplinary exhibition, for which we are asking your kind support!

Our exhibition will take place from May 14th to May 26th in our building located in Derkinderenstraat 86 in Amsterdam.
