Dear friends,

Just a quick update to let you know when we will be sending out the physical cd's! As promised, they will be signed by all three of us (Maya, Artem and me), which is why it's taking a bit of time. We will put them all in the mail next Tuesday, May 4th! So those who are getting a physical copy, you will have them on your doormat soon after that. The digital albums will be sent out around then as well.

We would love to hear your first reactions on the album so don't hesitate to pop me an email or send a whatsapp to +31610185196. It will be available to listen on Spotify and all other platforms from May 7th onwards. Also, if you have any questions for us about the album or anything else, let us know and we will answer them during the Release Party! That includes questions for my father Josef Malkin, the only living composer on the album, who will give a short interview during the event.

Virtual Launch Party!

Happy King's Day everyone! Though we will not be celebrating on the streets today like most years, I do have a fun announcement for you. Dear supporters,

Hope you are all staying safe and healthy. We are working like crazy behind the scenes to get the album ready: I'm writing translations and liner notes, we will have the cover photo shoot next week, we're finishing up the editing and mastering tomorrow and next week, and then it's off to the press! As the cd and booklet pressing factories are working at reduced capacity, we need to get all the digital files ready as soon as possible so the album can be pressed and printed in time.

Of course, the concerts we planned this winter have to be rescheduled. We are now planning a release concert and celebration in May to kick off a small concert tour (fingers crossed that we will be allowed to perform again by that time!). For those who are getting a concert ticket, I will be in touch as soon as the concerts are finalized.

It’s been two weeks since we finished the crowdfunding, and now we are working hard on editing, writing liner notes and preparing the art work. Thanks to you, we can make the beautiful album we are envisioning! What a joy to be working on this in the midst of the lockdown.

Today is the final day of our crowdfunding campaign. I’m overwhelmed by the generosity of you all! We have reached our goals to produce the cd, and are incredibly excited to present it to you in a few months. Any more donations made today will be put to an important use: the promotion of the cd, which is an essential part of making it a succes!

Dear friends,
We just finished our intense and rewarding first day of editing at the TRPTK studio. We got through the first five songs of Weinberg’s Rocking the Child, and I must say I’m pleased! During the recording, we spent a lot of time finetuning the balance between voice and piano, and between the big hall acoustics and the intimate feeling we wanted to create,. I think it worked out really well and I’m curious what you all will think of the result.

We are incredibly thankful for all of the support you have given, and can hardly believe that we are close to reaching our crowdfunding goal! A few more days to go, and then it is hopefully time to get started on the artwork and booklet. Can’t wait to continue the editing in January, and will keep you updated on the progress in the meantime! For now a merry Christmas to all those celebrating!

Thank you to all the listeners who donated to our campaign! We are another step closer toward our goal!

A huge thank you to you all for your generous donations, which have allowed us to start the postproduction process! Updates will follow from next week. However, we are not there yet. Because of some technical difficulties, we had to record and extra day that we had not budgeted for. That means we have no more budget left for the cd booklet, which is an essential part of the album. The good news is, we still have two weeks of crowdfunding left! So if you help us spread the word, I'm sure we can make it happen.

December 18: Live on Radio 4!

Tomorrow, Friday December 18, between 11:00-11:30 AM, Maya, Artem and I will be live in the studio at NPO Radio 4 De Klassieken, to perform and talk about This is not a lullaby! More info and listen here

What a day! We had a really productive session recording part of Weinberg’s
Rocking the Child songs. It took us a while to figure out the right positioning of instruments and mics, as creating the intimate atmosphere of a mother and baby in a darkened room is a big contrast with the grandeur of a concert hall! But thanks to our genius recording engineer Brendon Heinst from TRPTK, we were able to combine the best of both worlds.
